  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My original navigation/radio unit had issues with holding the Sirius stations...even the radio stations. It also began showing signs of malfunctioning in the navigation arena. So, it was replaced.

I had the above new until for about another 7 months and now I've had it replaced as well. On my navigation, it would recalculate for no reason on a free way (for example) while it was a straight shot to my destination and it would ask me to get off and on and right back on the freeway. The arrow also showed me being just to the right of the freeway instead of on it. It did this primarily on freeways and could recalculate 6-7 time withing 3 minutes. Also, my bluetooth calls when dialed would come through like those guys on TV who they are disguising their voices (kinda slow and indistinguishable). I would hang up, redial, and it would work fine. This was happening fairly regularly as well.

I purchased my car 5/14 and have to say, I really love it. No regrets! The navigation/radio system I even love...one of the best (featured) one's I've had in all my cars...but, it has some unreliability in my experience. The dealer has been great about troubleshooting it (resetting it and checking diagnostics) but they turned out defective. My biggest gripe about he nav system is it's poor ability to recognize voice commands, addresses, etc. Other than that, I think it's a very nice unit.

As previously reported, my nav died after about 2 months of service; dealer replaced the antenna and the system worked for about 5 months then failed again; dealer replaced the head unit and the system still wouldn't work; dealer replaced the complete wiring harness and the system is still working after 11 months. I have since bought the factory 100,000 mile warranty that includes the electronics and other items not covered by the standard warranty.

Note that each wire in the harness had been individually tested and tested OK.

I had a somewhat similar experience, but my nav system would "lose" me. I would be driving in one city and next minute, the system had me in a different location -- sometimes in a place I had traveled to, other times not. I also had complete failure with Sirius - radio and information. I called Sirius, livid with them, and actually became quite proficient in resetting my Sirius system. Initially, the dealer could not find a problem. But, when they contacted Tech Line, they were told that a few of the 2015s were experiencing problems with the "head". I have a 9.2", but don't know if it was limited to that size. Tech Line told the dealer to replace the head in my car and, knock on wood, no issues with either navigation or SIrius since then. If you have any further problems, ask your service department to contact Tech Line and they will help out.
