If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

I have purchased a 2010 Genesis Sedan 4.6L from the US and have brought it over to Canada. To be able to drive the vehicle here, I need to have DRL on my Genesis. How can I get DRL's on my car?

I have searched and searched, but have not found how to get DRL's on my car. I read there is a fuse/relay for DRL's, but they only have one prong and adding a fuse will not do anything. I have also read that they can not be enabled through programming from the dealer. So what options do I have?

What is the best way to get DRL's? Can I wire up the fog lights somehow so they act as DRL's? Anyway to manipulate the parking lights? Any help or direction is greatly appreciated, Thank You.

Hey there. Unfortunately I haven't done any re-wiring to my car, but in Canada they use the high beams as DRL, just with less power so they're not as bright. I'm sure you would wire them to come on if you see where they get their power from. If not, to turn on my LED strips on the 2012 model I can change the light switch position, so in your case you can probably switch it to have the parking lights on.

I found threads about changing lights but no info on wiring those DRLs unfortunately...

Thanks for your reply. I do not have the led strips so I can not do anything with those. Also, I only found the same thing, threads about changing their lights, none about actually hooking them up some way.

Unfortunately I can not leave the switch in a particular position. In Canada, they want it to be where you do not have the option to turn off the DRL's. They will not pass my car until I have DRL's which can not be manually/accidentally turned off.

If I remember correctly 2010 Genesis all came with DRL, but I could be wrong.
Did you check in the fuse box in the engine bay to see if you have a relay installed for the DRL?
Many people removed the DRL relay to disable the DRL so if you bought your car used, the chances are that previous owner took the relay out. Have a look.

Thank you for the reply. I checked, and there is not a relay installed in the "e64" area shown. So I put a relay in there, but no go, there is nothing to plug in to (no prongs). The relay just falls in.

Any other ideas?

Does anyone have a picture of the fuse box diagram, this box shown is the only cover I am missing. So I do not know which fuses/relays are supposed to be where in this box.

From what you mentioned, prongs missing for the relay and the fuse, your car did not have DRL equipped from the factory.
I guess I was wrong about all of 2010 Genesis having DRLs.
It is probably possible to wire everything to have the factory DRL, but I don't know if it will be worth the effort.
I would recommend getting other aftermarket LED DRL like what other member has mentioned above and just be done with it.
