  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

1G Genesis Sedan (2009-2014)
2012 5.0 R-Spec w/approx 51,000mi.
Had my car at mechanics over night for tire change. Car went dead from rodent chewing cable to battery through night...so....
The mechanic used the "Shift Lock Release," near the shifter (never used before on this car) so he could roll the car into bay.
When I Picked up car, immediately noticed the shifter felt weird, spongy, imprecise.
But worse is it does not want to go into D.
P, R, N all good, but I have to pull shifter TOO hard into D position and it might shift into D.
Took five mins yesterday. Otherwise it stays in N. No D. No manual. No forward.
Could the mechanic have erred in some way? Car has Never ever done this until that shift lock was released. The mechanic says not his problem.
Any shifter suggestions? Thoughts or similar issues?
