  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2013 R spec sedan I need tires. I'm very confused with the different message boards & that I see on tire rack dot com. I'm looking to accomplish is to go as wide as I can on my tires without having any effects to the speedometer or drivability or reliability of the car with the stock rims. I am torn between the Conti's and the hankook's can I have some suggestions please. To drop approximately $1000 and not be happy really concerns me. Thanks

The car will ride and perform better with the stock size tires if you are going to keep the original wheels. If you go summer HP tires then its Michelin Pilot Sports or Bridgestone S0-4. All season is Continental DWS but does give up some handling crispness.

Most on the Mercedes AMG forum go with the Michelin Pilot Sport Original 18 or 19" size. They do cost a good sum but come with a 30,000 mile warranty which is very good for a high performance tire.

Michelin website says they don't have a tire for my size and my car

I think that the 245-45-19 was also used on the Rspec. and is an optional size on tire rack. Michelin does have that size.

+1. If you want to save a little bit of money go with the Bridgestone s04 pole positions, or the continental DW. IMO, these are the best high performance summer tires period, and they offer great comfort and low road noise.

This site may answer some questions and concerns u may have about changing tire size.
Remember shifting points, performance n odometer readings can be effected by the diameter of the installed tires.

Going to a 245-45-19 from a 235-45-19 will change the revs per mile by less than 2%.

My '12 R Spec came with 245 45 19 Bridgestone SO4's. They were done by about 16K miles. I went with Conti DW in the same size. They lasted about 20K miles.

The DW started with a little more grip than the SO4, but as time went on, they seemed to get a little slicker. The Traction control light seemed to come on more after 15k miles than it did with just 5K miles on them.

I wouldn't put anything wider than 245 on 8' rim.

Yeah you're probably right to 45 would be the max I'm upset so I can't get the tire that I want they don't make it in my size

But a 255 will not fit the stock rim. ;) Otherwise a lot of us would have them already. :)

Okay I just ordered the Potenza S-04 pole position 245 45 19 . At one third the price than the Michelin's and since Michelin doesn't have this size I figured for the price can't be beat plus it rated really high on tire rack any feedback any suggestions any reviews on this particular tire thanks
