  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Need new tires. Any recommendations.

Ended up ordering 4 PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 ALL SEASON PLUS SL.
I have P7s on my 2013 Genesis and have been very pleased with them all around. Nice quiet ride when cruising and they're good at letting you know when they're reaching their limits before just letting go if you decide to explore the performance side of things.

Conti sucks. Had same DWSs on my 5.0. Developed sidewall failures after 25K plus high wear. Went Mich 3+ and have never looked back. They appear to probably wear out about 30-35K of hard running, but Tire Rack said don't worry, will credit about 45-50% against tire warranty when I get a new set. Okay deal by me because of their superior handling performance, even in heavy rain & light snow.
Forgot to mention, when to 255/40/19s A/S 3+s. Really adds 4 wheel grip and knocks out rear wheel spin on hard acceleration/drags with even smoother ride.

Forgot to mention, went to Mich's 255/40/19 A/S 3+s. Much more grip at all 4 wheels and noticeably reduces rear wheel spin on hard launches and drags, with actually softer ride. No negatives, still great in rain and light snow.

I have P7 SL's on my Sorento SX V6. Nice all around tire for price but a little wiggly in rain and gets noisier as it ages. Does get fairly long mileage. First set lasted about 50K.

Speaking of Tires I jumped on a deal to get the tires from Discount Tires (DT) as I saw a Sale on TireRack (TR) for the Michelin Primacy AS 255/55R18 for $104 (When I bought them as they are now $114).
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tire...0INT&cjevent=07a83df396d811ea82e5015c0a1c0e12

I was able to get DT to Pricematch and beat their price at $100 per tire and haggled them for the lifetime warranty certificates. All said and done they sold the tires for $500 even including 6% tax and TPMS Rebuild Kits (not TPMS). I went with DT in addition to TR was because they had $70 rebate and another $20 rebate for a final price of $410.

I compared to Costco and it was $850 on sale for the 235/50 variant but the above tire sits a bit taller and looks a lot nicer on the car and fits with ample clearance and makes the car ride smoother and less bumpier due to the added rubber. There is a slight difference in OEM sizing so your actual speed varies a bit by about 3-4% btw.

Paid $70 to a guy I know at a Costco to get it done which I dont think was too bad considering I got $22 install charges elsewhere but he took my 17" winter rims out, replaced the tires on the summer 18" and disposed of them in that price. I use Costco to do the swap in Winter and Sprint anyways as they used to be cheap ($22) but have gone up to $42 now in my area. I like that they also balance before putting on the new rims and no other bs upcharge.

I have a 2012 Genesis 4.6 V8. I need to replace by 8 year old tires that have 41,000+ miles on them. Looking for a quiet and smooth riding tire. Any help would be great. Thanks Marty
I have a 2010 sedan 4.6, just bought 4 new Continental Extreme Contact DWS 235.50.18. I originally had these on my car, and didn’t hestitate a bit about buying them again. The best tires I ever bought! The DWS stands for Dry/Wet /Snow! Tire rack even rated them one of the best tires for this car!!!!

How many miles did you get out of your first set of Continental's?

I was at Costco today and talk to the tire man their, he recommended Michelin # 1 rated Primacy touring tire. He said it would be quiet and smooth riding tire. With an 55,000 mile warranty. Sale price out the door is $940.02. It is an upgrade to the Original Equipment Energy Saver A/S with a 40,000 mile warranty, I have now. L.A. lowest temperature gets around F. 35

I've got to agree, I just replaced a set of junk tires (I just bought my 2011 4.6) that came on it. I got the Michelin Primacy Tour A/S tires, a bit over $900 out the door at Costco. Completely changed the ride/drive/handling. Highly recommended. I can't believe anyone put cheap tires on this fine car!!!

Michelin PS4s.. ill never go back

It is what I'm putting on in the next few weeks. Rarely get to cold country but it can happen so I'm going all season instead of a summer tire. In the range of $900 set of 4

You guys are crazy, I mean that in a good way. I Have a 2012 Genesis Rspec that came with conti tires. I replaced then straight away with Yokohama s drives. They were great but I ate them up quick (burnouts smoke shows). They were quiet and looked great. I replaced them with Sumimotos. Again super quiet lots of grip. How do i know is because with the Yoko's it was easier to smoke them. They also look good. Really when it comes to tires it is about rain dispersion and cost. I if you drive in a fashion that is correct for the conditions most tires will do what you need. So it comes down to cost and the way they look. For me it s mostly about looks and cost. Sure I would like to have some P-zeros but not for 260a piece. So looks it is for me. Good luck with your search.
