  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just picked up my 2.0T last night and the doors have what looks almost like a thin weatherstripping on the outside edge of the door (where you get in and out only) I can not tell if this is to protect the door edge and is there intentionally or the guy that prepped the car just didn't know that you are not supposed to leave it on.

Its a black plastic/rubber edging on the doors, maybe an 1/8th of an inch deep.
Its already starting to come off.

Any thoughts?

My guess is to take it off. The car comes with a lot of tape some blue, some clear, to protect it from the transportation process. Need to be sure? Take pictures of what you are talking about. It is often hard for people to explain or visualize other people's problems. Pictures are worth a thousand words.

There you go, you can see it already falling off on its own at the bottom.

95% sure you should pull that off, but you may want to get the advice of other 2.0 or coupe owners for sure. I drive the sedan so I can't say for certain.

never trust the kid that has to preps cars at 6pm on a Sunday I guess :)

Thanks guys
