In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. That time of year.

Right now, I have my aftermarket 20's with the stock TPMS sensors in those tires. I do not want to remove them and swap them over every season.

So, I need new TPMS sensors for my winter wheels. Winter wheels will be on OEM rims.

I have a feeling the dealer is going to ask for a lot of cash for these sensors. What's the best path forward here? I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to see what they want for them.

I should also add,...

We had a similar situation with my gf's RVR. We put aftermarket sensors inside her aftermarket wheels. TPMS wouldn't work with them. Went back to the installer three times to try and get it to work. No luck. Even cloning wouldn't work. System seemed very touchy without the OEM sensors.

That's what I'm trying to avoid here. Does anyone have any aftermarket sensors in their Genny? Is the system a pain in the ass? I've always had a strong dislike for TPMS because of this kind of thing.

Just at the dealer right now. They want $755 plus tax plus another $50 for the nuts!!!!! Insane!!! Even the parts person was blown away.

eBay it is I guess. What’s the relearn process for the system? Is it easy?

LOL, I was close!
Once they're in, just drive a few miles and they'll "register" itself. No need for any calibration, etc.

Ok thanks Dareck. I just bought those sensors you linked. I'll update this thread later next month when my winters are on.

I think they're less than $15 each at Costco, but maybe that's only if you buy new tires. I did a few months ago and I think they were actually around $8 each.

Update:

I ordered the tpms sensors that Dareck linked above. Unfortunately, the seller didn't have enough to complete the order. I needed four, they only had two even tho they had a listed quantity as seven. After some back and forth, I was eventually refunded. I found another seller with the same sensors and even an install kit with all the required nuts and o-rings. They sent it all without issue.

I went to a local tire shop and ordered some 18" Nokian Hakka R3's for my car. I got the sensors and rubber mounted on the OEM rims at a local tire shop back in Oct.

I just put them on today and everything went great! I got a little nervous when I was driving because the TPMS display kept saying "Drive to Display" but after a few kilometers, all the digits popped up. I'm very happy with all this. This is the first time I have ever got the TPMS to work correctly between swaps. My gf's car is being a real pain in the ass with its TPMS.... we have the OEM sensors in her winter tires and I put them on a few days ago.... TPMS still doesn't work.

Anyway, it was a smooth first time wheel swap for my Genny! Awesome!
