  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi - new to the forum but as I picked up my new Rohens (as it is called in China) today then I thought I'd sign up here.

There are not many differences between the cars in North America and those sold in China although we get a few optional extras in the USA as standard but lose out on the heated seats (well, don't really need them here except for maybe 6 - 8 weeks of the year). It does cost a lot more here though - as all foreign cars do, whether they made in China or imported ! The basic 2.0T here costs US$38,000 plus another US$5,500 for the number plate !

Anyway here are some pics of the new car.

That's really nice Shanghai R. !

Nice car. I wonder why Hyundai went with a completely different name for the Genny Coupe in China

Thanks Jailer !

Pwrplay - I think it was because a) there is already a car with a very similar name (in fact in many places you will see it called Genesis whereas on the back of the car it is designated as Geniss.
b) they wanted to distinguish the car and make it more exclusive - the Rohens (as an exclusive designer) is supposed to do that.

Livina Geniss has been designed and engineered at the Nissan Technical Centre in Atsugi, Japan and will be built on a Renault-Nissan Alliance common platform.

The Nissan Livina Geniss will be powered by an 1.8 gasoline engine with C-VTC (Continuous Valve Timing Control) for improved power overall and torque.

What do you do over there Shanghai R.? I might be moving there sometime soon. Maybe you can get me a job. :)

5 and a half grand for licence plate registration. Nice!

It applies to both the coupe and sedan.

Rohens is the brand name that Hyundai went w/ in China to differentiate them from the rest of Hyundais line-up (kind of funny that Hyundai kept the "flying H" badges).

I have my own company handling inbound expatriates for corporate relocations (schools, immigration processing, leased housing). Most expats have a job when they arrive because otherwise you can't get a residence visa. Good Luck !
