  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello Everyone,

I have had my 2011 4.6 for just over a week now and have over 1600 miles on the car. I live near Toronto and took the car for a long weekend to the Laurentian mountains near Montreal. I encountered a lot of different road conditions including some very wet roads!

By way of background my last car was a '07 G35 Sport sedan and I have had a number of BMWs and Mercedes prior to that. Up until a couple of years ago, I was racing motorcycles and cars competitively until I became addicted to golf and its perverse pleasure/pain continuum.

I love the Genesis engine and feel that the ride, while quite firm, is very good and controlled. The oem tires (Dunlop SP 5000M) are horrible for this car and I was able to get the tires to break away in the wet - very exciting! I just put on some Michelin Pilot Sports A/S Plus and the ride is noticeably more comfortable and compliant over all sorts of pavement.

I have more of a complaint with the lack of support in the seats for high speed/g's driving but the majority of the car's fine attributes trump that minor issue.

I am enjoying this forum and there were many helpful threads which enabled me to reach my decision to buy the vehicle.

Cheers

Overall the seats are great, but you're right there's not much side bolster support. Although the V8 can easily get to triple digits without even trying, I think the car is more of a luxo cruiser with sporty intentions, not the other way around.

Welcome,

I live in Mississauga. I'm happy to see more Canadians buying the Genesis. It's a fantastic car. Feels ever so firmly "planted" on the road. Love the sport/luxo ride.

Welcome and enjoy this wonderful car...especially the V8 engine.
Say hi if you pass by Montreal and see a white V8.
