  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know there are lots of posts on the plus and minuses of the Generation I compared to the Generation 2.
There is a $8000 and higher difference today to purchase the 2014 Gen 1 over the 2015 Gen 2.

Thank you. Your input is appreciated.

Re: New 2014 or 215?

I bought a 2014 r-spec this February, 11k ish under sticker. For what I paid for the 2014, I would have only been able to get a v6 base 2015.

Yea that is the thing. If you can get a fully loaded 14 for under the price of base 2015, why not? Not to mention that the 2015 is first model year and bugs will be found here and there....

Well…. not to belittle your decision because you did make a good deal but really it’s not like you would be buying next year’s model of the same car. It is a different car. Regardless it is a very nice car enjoy your ride. :)

The Gen 1 has a better stereo and is faster, but doesn't look as good as the Gen 2. The gen 2 also has more electronic options.

Looks are objective. I think it comes down to money too. You can probably get more Gen 1 for less money. If you like the looks of the Gen1, I'd do it.

👆👍👏🏻➕1⃣ if these are priorities, you have a great suggestion here. And I can also validate, since owning both.

Perfect point!

In summary, I'd say it becomes a very subjective topic. G2 is superior to G1 (regardless if some of us prefer the aesthetics of G1). So it ends up being to decide $$$ allocation... car or something else.

Exploring the theme: wouldn't a G1 at the current price level be an excellent alternative for loaded Accords or Camrys?

👆👍1⃣ with the addition that to some, the first gen being much faster is superior point to gen two.. If that is important, very real. Also, more personalization with mods available. Rigid collars to improve handling, various breathing modifications to make gen one even quicker.

I agree, expect for audio, weight and speed, my vote has Gen two ahead in the other areas.
