  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys,

I've been stalking this forum for almost a year and finally pulled the trigger on a 2016 3.8L.

So far loving the car, it drives so well I don't even mind the weed smell from whatever idiot leased it. Plan to get it fogged or something to clear it out but right now I'm just enjoying the experience.

Of course nothing is perfect, and a few things caught my attention:

1. Radio defaults to FMat startup. Is there a way to get it to keep the last setting?

2. My driver seat shifts slightly when turning, feels like something is loose or there is some play in there. Is this normal or should I take it in?

Thanks in advance!

Nice choice. Is the car under warranty? That is the main question because both will be fixed if it deals with craftsmenship.

The car is still under warranty. Guess I should take it in.

Pretty sure it defaults to a radio setting (AM, FM, SiriusXM) rather than a media. Since I have it on Sirius 99.9% of the time I'm not sure what happens unless maybe you had something plugged in to detect.

Seat should be solid so yes, take it in.
Nice choice of cars though. enjoy the ride.

Congrats!! hope you have many trouble free years/miles after you get the buds...errr I mean bugs out of it!:smoking::smoking::smoking::laughing::laughing::laughing:

I only use SirusXm in my car, stays on the exact channel as left before. As for the seat, like many others said if she's under warranty take er' in!

Glad you are enjoying the car!

My car had a smoke smell when I got it but I found that some bags of activated carbon really helped with the smell.

How long did it take to start noticing a difference? I picked some up and I've also been airing it out thanks to the sunny weather we've been getting. It's improving, but very slowly...
Really would hate to get pulled over with this weed smell tho 😬.

I can live with the radio default thing, no big deal. On a related note I noticed a lot of members opted for the mapnsoft map update, does Hyundai not offer a free software update anymore?
I really just want AA in my car but I'd rather not pay $150 if Hyundai still has it for free.

Thanks guys!

New models get 3 years of free map updates. I don't see what model you have. The Ultimate cannot get AA. Other models were getting a free software update to give you AA but that is gone. IIRC it was a licensing issue.

Maybe a month or two with 4 bags and the hot southern sun. I also wiped down all the interior surfaces too.

My driver seat does the same. Per Hyundai there is a revised clip that hold the seat on the track. They told me mine already had the revised clips but replaced them with the new ones. Unfortunately that only lasted a few months before I heard and felt them pop off on a hard corner. They did reset the clips again a few weeks back and my seat is fine again but not for long is suspect. For me it helps if I adjust my seat position when it starts shifting constantly and then put it back to my normal seating set. Maybe that resets the clips for the time being. It's annoying to say the least but it could be worse!

Yep, sounds like what Hyundai told me last night. Even with blue link you still have to pay so what exactly is the service good for besides remote start.

My update came with AA but I found myself using the car nav on the way home instead. The updated version isn't too bad if you don't try to talk to it.

Thanks for the tip Markymark. It's getting better but I still get a blast of weed when I first get in the car, I'll wipe it down then give it a month or so before detailing.

Good to know, I will mention this when I take it in.
