So I just took delivery of a 3.3T Prestige, Nuburg green with the vanilla beige interior.
First off, thanks to everyone for all the information I was able to gather from this forum, much appreciated.
Some comments on the purchase process. I'm in Canada and dealt with Genesis Mississauga at Square One.
Process with them was mixed.
Tried to set up a test drive, took 3 emails from me and 2 days for the GXM to respond that he was very busy and we'd have to do it in a weeks time.
He did show up on time once scheduled and was knowledgeable about the vehicle during the test drive.
As they don't negotiate the price, you are to get pricing from the website, however the website isn't updated with any promotions.
In my case there was a $1000 "Conquest" reduction for a lease, it was a $2,500 reduction for cash.
You would think that they would mention these types of discounts available on their website, since that is how the cars are purchased.
Another issue with the Canadian website.
It does not show all the colours available/configurable and is not up to date.
Website shows Casablanca white and Santiago silver, no mention of Uyuni white or Savile silver.
I know these are available as I asked to see an inventory of what was in stock at the area compound.
The website couldn't even configure my final choice of Nuburg with vanilla interior.
There were some issues with my GXM, he wasn't returning my emails or texts.
Finally called the store and was informed that he was no longer working there and was passed on to a new GXM.
New GXM was fine, responsive to any questions I had.
Ordered last week and vehicle was delivered 4 days later.
Bit of a gripe about the delivery, it was supposed to be delivered on a trailer, however it is out of commission so the GXM drove the car to my home.
I should have been informed beforehand so I could have made the decision to pick it up instead.
Now about the car itself.
For reference my two previous cars are Jaguars, a XFR (V8) and most recently an F-Type (V6).
I love the F-type but I'm retiring and needed something a little easier on the wallet and practical.
So far all is good. A definite change from the F-Type but I'm very impressed with the ride.
Breaking it in right now so driving in sport mode to vary the rpm's.
I think I'll always be in that mode, I can't live with the acceleration in the other modes.
It's a sports sedan and should be driven like one.
The one issue that could make driving this car so much more enjoyable is the exhaust sound.
I knew it during the test drive, but figured I could get use to it.
If you've ever driven an AMG, M Series or Jaguar, I'm sure those pops, burps and crackles when you lift your foot off the gas would bring a smile to your face.
Genesis needs to add an active exhaust to make this a truly enjoyable ride.
