  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I purchased a new 2022 G70
Salesman delivered a 2022 G70 with cosmetic damage.

Stains on windshield
Roof molding lifting
Scratch on passenger window
I think tint was installed by amateur.

I was waiting just over a month. Salesman told me car was on boat, then in transit to yard, then on its way to dealer should be a few weeks more. Received call from sales manager, car just landed and 3 days later it was delivered. Over the next 4 days I noticed all these issue. I also noticed rust on rotors which tells me car was sitting for a while plus the stains on windshield confirms it. I did not purchase any additional servicers like extended warranty and protection. I did purchase the tint which looks like an amateur installed. Seems to me they pocketed the money I paid for the tint and had some amateur install it. All the stains you see are between the tint and window. I was driving by dealer every Sunday to see if any new inventory. I kept noticing this same car as the one delivered. I had called to inquire about the car and salesman said it was already purchased but person was out of country. Think that deal fell through and I got it. This all could have been avoided with a pre delivery inspection. Unfortunately could not see the tint and windshield issue when delivered because I use a scooter to get around most of the time and my sight line falls near bottom of windows.

Salesman tried telling me these things happen. Ummm NO. Not to new vehicles they do not. Last thing I heard from salesman and sales manager was we'll make it right. That was over a week ago. No follow up nothibg. As soon as they get your money they are like farts in the wind. Waiting for service manager to setup appointment.

I don't know man, seems like you're over reacting? The car seems fine to me, the only thing that's irritating is the poorly installed tint. The 'stains' and scratch both seem related to the tint install. This is why you pretty much never agree to dealer add-ons unless they are free. The dealer isn't your friend. I had a buddy's sister who purchased a ceramic coating package with her car. There was no coating applied. She called and complained and the dealer said the coating doesn't make the car hydrophobic. Go figure.

But yes, its a new car and probably sat on a boat for a few days. Rotors rust or 'discolour' if they get wet. It's normal. I don't see the roof molding lifting, maybe the pictures aren't angled properly. At some point you need to consider if fighting this is worth your time and effort.

If you're really concerned about it being an old car, check the sticker on your door jamb. The manufactured month and year should be there.

Should not be any scratches. Sounds like a crappy tint job though.
Stains on windshield should have been taken care of during the prep for delivery.

As for the rust on rotors, that is common. One of my cars would rust overnight on a rainy day. A couple of stops clears it up. I'd not wait too long to politely ask when my service appointment is though. Seems like a week is long enough to wait.
