  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been reading information on installing new batteries and I have the following question:
Does the replacement battery need to be registered to the ECM on the 2016 Genesis 3.8 sedan?

Not really. I had batteries replaced without issues. Just run an OBD scan for all functions after the new battery is installed.

I changed mine myself on my 5.0. Nothing else was required.

Same here. Replaced mine at the AutoZone parking lot. It was an easy plug and play. No coding.

There's no coding batteries on these, just the power controller has to learn the new battery's specific performance over time. You won't set any codes unless the battery is way out of spec.
