  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Contential DWS-Pulls to Right

Hopefully problem solved. Tire dealer is taking all four back and ordering four Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires. Seems that on any car where the camber is not adjustable, asysmetrical tires that pull to the right cannot be corrected without a camber kit. I had to do that with my SL500 and not again. Did a google search on DWS pulls to the right and had an eye opener. I ordered the DWS because of the positive comments on this forum.

DWS they seem to do well in the snow, but they are poorly matched on some cars. I think the serenity's will do you well. I haven't seen any complaints about this tire even though they're also asymmetrical. They've been on the mkt for a while and seem to have quite the loyal following. I've never had any problems with Bridgestone tires, and have two sets rolling on my cars now and they're fantastic.

Since you recently had a alignment, the printout should show the camber numbers and I would compare them to the hyundai spec sheet you copied, just to see if your camber is to far out of specs. If you still have warranty, have Hyundai fix it.

I think you will be very pleased. I will be buying tires soon replacing the Turanza Serenity tires that have about 42000 miles on them. Will be getting another set of Serenity tires W rated. Including tires on my previous car, an Acura TSX, this will be my fifth set of this tire and never a problem.

You can go to the Hyundai Genesis Sedan Suspension and Braking Discussions and read about more Genesis owners with the same problem and also read TSB 06-50-013 and TSB 08-SS-004. I own a 08 Azera and have similiar problems.

Interesting discussion..... 235/50ZR-18 CONTINENTAL EXTREME CONTACT DWS (14k miles on new tires)

I have a 2010 3.8 fully loaded and the Dunlop tires that came stock on it were probably about the worse tires I have had on a car. They made it to about 22k miles before becoming unserviceable upon getting a flat on the front right in the sidewall. I had purchased the tire protection program so the dealership picked up the cost of 2 tires for the front, while I paid for 2 new rear ones.

I had already been doing a lot of research on tires and knew that when mine were ready to be replaced it would be with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. I purchased them on Tire Rack and had them dropped shipped to my local dealership. These are the best tires I've had on a car, they handle great in all driving conditions and have an excellent warranty on them. I also noted the pulling problem at first (to the right on mine) along with a vibration in the steering wheel at 65-70mph. The dealership did an alignment and tire balance, our Hyundai dealer has a new balancing machine which can read the tread wear pattern on each tire and tells the technician where to move each tire to. After they did this the vibration and pulling is completely gone. If your not satisfied with the tires and you have had them for less then 30 days Continental does have a 30 day return/exchange policy in place.

They are a very aggressive tread pattern and provide a lot of feel/contact with the road surface. I guess that after having the Dunlop's on the car I'd forgotten what it felt like to be in touch with the road.

See if your dealership has the new tire balancing machine, I will find out from my dealer what it's called and edit my post within the next couple of days with what it is.

I kind of wished that I had paid a little more and bought the tires and alignment from my Hyundai dealer but I had done business with this tire dealer for years.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The machine is a Hunter GSP 9700 and does a force wheel balancing and not all Hyundai dealers have it. Better tire dealers have it and know how to use it. My worst alignment and balancing came from my dealer.

I replaced the dreaded Dunlops with Continental ExtremeContact DWS and am very pleased with them. No pulling to the right, no issues of any kind. And compared to the Dunflops, the difference is like night and day. The Contis are much better in the snow and much smoother riding.
