  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Was just curious- I just had the engine replaced under warranty. Only 79,000 miles. My question is what does this for the resale value?

My guess is that in most cases, this will increase the resale value. You now have a new engine in that Genesis - with an additional warranty...

I don't know if it'll necessarily increase the resale value. If it does, it'll be marginal. It might help it sell quicker, because some will like the idea that it has a new engine, but that's it. Nobody cares if it's a numbers matching engine or not. It is not a collector car.

There is no additional warranty on that new engine since you didn't pay for it. The engine is warrantied for 10yr/100k miles. Doesn't matter if it was replaced at 99k miles, Hyundai only guarantees it until 100k miles. Even if it did carry a warranty, it's for 12mon/12k miles, which would still keep it under 100k miles that it's already warrantied for.
