  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2009 Genesis 4.6 has 140,000 miles, and I have been looking for a replacement. The 2015 Genesis is a great car, but I have only seen the 3.8 and they want $52k with little or no give. Started looking at late, used, Equus cars and found several 2013s that have been in service for about a year, found the Signatures and Ultimates within $1,000 of each other, and over three month search noted that very few were selling.

Not to bore you, but last week, I purchased a 2013 Ultimate, Granite/Black, 11,400 miles, 46 months, 46,000 miles original warranty remaining (not CPO), very clean Carfax, for $39,400, out the door. I had searched the entire US, and had to go 1,500 miles to inspect and pick the car up in mid-south USA. I could not buy a 2014 Ginny 5.0 for that price. I'm retired so the quest was not a burden.

Great car, drove it home and it runs great. 25.4 mpg @ avg. 70 mph.

Life's good!

Your numbers are really weird. I bought my 2013 r-spec brand new at $41000 and I overpaid seriously. There are people here buying the same for as low as $32000 - $33000. A 3.8 for $40K used is insane.

Looks like the OP bought an Equus and not a Genesis.

Great buy and congrats.
Life is good indeed but too short too.
