  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

I am contemplating the purchase of a 2013 Genesis Coupe - Track Model.

While it is fun to drive, it did not seem to have the power of my 335i (but considerably less $).

My question is: How much more HP can this engine make with affordable aftermarket solutions? ie. a chip, etc.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Jeff

Read your warranty closely before adding aftermarket engine or electronic items.

Head over to g e n co upe. com to get some information on this, rather than the broken record warranty comments.

Btw, which are you looking at: 2.0 or 3.8?

Thanks for the info. I will visit the other site. I am looking at the Track model of the 3.8.

The 2 liter turbo is designed specifically for people like yourself. Swap out the stock turbo for a bigger one and bam!

I doubt you drove the 3.8 Track very hard and thought that. Likely, you drove a 2.0T model, which is significantly slower in stock form.

The Genesis is one of those cars that is much faster than you think your doing.

I test drove both. I liked the v6 so much more. I figured up how much it would cost me to make a 2.0t the same hp as the 3.8 and the cost didn't make sense to me. I'm very happy with my purchase.
