  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis used the previous gen Santa Fe as the test mule for the GV80. It had a longer wheel base and you can tell it was a Rear Wheel Drive layout. Genesis is using the Tucson as a bases for the GV70 because it’s just a test mule. We would probably see the actual body around fall time.

Test mules only use different body panels. Not different platforms.

You’d be Surprised. Hyundai use existing vehicles that they have and make structural tweaks to it instead of investing in a completely new platform from the get go. They did this with the New Sonata as well where they used the Optima and extending the front courtier panel as we see in the final product today. They do this every time with a new product to save money.
