  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on your brand new Genesis GV80! :) How does it compare to the Acura MDX? They're direct competitors so I'm really curious about how the two compare. I always like to hear from actual owners rather than people who've just tested the vehicles...

Hello Sal,

The MDX was nice. I had the SH AWD with Tech Package. (No A-Spec) The cabin was a little more quieter and according to my wife, the drive seems like the MDX was floating on air.

The MDX had 3 rows with no air vents in the 3rd row area, so passengers would swelter. I had to get a 12v fan for 3rd row.

The GV80 acceleration and braking is much better. I actually like the feel and handling of the GV80 as well. I had the Acura for 2 years and the GV80 for 2 weeks and overall, enjoy the GV80 more.

My wife is the main driver. She's happy with the GV80 as well. She said it seems better.

No complaints from her, means no complaints from me.

Thank you. So the MDX is a little more quiet and softer riding than the GV80... And the GV80 has more sporty characteristics... Both have their advantages. My PREFERENCE would be for Genesis to be more about luxury (soft, quiet) than performance (acceleration, handling, braking) - but it is what it is... No ventilation for 3rd row passengers is a ridiculous oversight on Acura's part.
