New Genesis Owner 2014 Tech

Hey how's is it going? Picked up a 2014 black on black 3.8L Tech a few weeks ago and just found this forum. I already re-badged the trunk emblem, the center caps and the steering wheel. I saw a couple of pics about the illuminated door sills and was trying to figure out if 1) I can do that, do I have th electrical connections in my car? and 2) where to get the parts. Looks freaking awesome! Anyways wanted to say hi and I love my car already.

Congratulations on your car purchase and welcome to the forum. I am sure you got a great deal on the 2014, and it was a wise decision.

Any Genesis sedan can be upgraded with the illuminated door sills as a DIY upgrade. There are quite a few posts on this forum about that. You should be able to get them at places like Korean Auto Imports or Ebay.

I added the door sills to my 2012 G. Absolutely love them. In the 2012 the wiring was built it and hidden under the door sill. I'm not sure about the 2014. I went to a radio shop and they had the too to remove my old door sills in a matter of seconds. I gave the guy $20 for the install and I was in and out oif there in 10-15 minutes.

Thanks for the info, I will pop the door sills off this weekend and see if its pre-wired
