  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,
I am getting a 2009 genesis with premium plus and tech package? Just curious as I have never had navigation in a car? What is the cost to utilize all the amenities, ie..Bluetooth,xm Sirius, ect.? Is it all through one provider? Is anything complimentary or is this going to cost me $40ish a month?

Any insight would be hlpful...Thanks..

On a 2009 the Bluetooth is for a mobile phone, etc and does not cost anything. However, it may not support all the latest models of mobile phones (not sure).

Contact SiriusXM Radio for pricing. I think it is about $10-$20 per month depending on what package you get.

You may be eligible for a free 60 day trial period on the SiriusXM Radio, which I would recommend before paying for it, since I personally think it sounds terrible. You can check eligibility for a free trial here:

If you are not eligible per the website, contact the dealer who sold the car and see if they can get you a free trial.

The Nav is free, but not sure about traffic subscription, and map updates from the dealer are fairly expensive (contact dealer for more info).

thanK you for the info....Have a great Holiday!

The traffic info is a SiriusXM package. It costs an additional $3.99/mo. It shows warnings for incidents, but only shows color-coded road speeds in certain areas. The warnings have usually been outdated, but I haven't had the car for that long so I'll wait until my trial is up before I decide to renew.

That was my experience when I first bought my Genesis, and had the trial package. Use something like Waze if you actually want current traffic info.
