  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey all,

New guy here with a recently acquired 2013 3.8 Premium. I am eyeing a set of cheap 17" wheels on my local CL and I am seriously considering buying them to put dedicated snow tires on them. From the searching I have done I think I am safe to buy them but would just feel better with some additional confirmation.

Will a 17" wheel with a 42 offset fit okay even as a step down from the OE 18's? I planned on putting 235/55/17 tires on them since from my research they are equivalent in size to the 235/50/18's.

Thanks in advance.

I'd recommend you install 1 rim on the front and spin it to make certain it clears the rotor before you hand over the cash for a non OEM rim.

My story. I bought a set of OEM 18" Genesis rims for snows for my V-8 on eBay only to find V-6 rims don't fit a V-8.

Craigslist and eBay sellers have pretty poor return policies.
