  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

new here, need some advice

CPO is Certified Pre-Owned. That means it is "supposed" to have had a 150 point checkup done by the dealer, and that the powertrain (engine and transmission and drive system) have the warranty extended to 10 years or 100K miles whichever comes first (normally only available to the original purchaser). The dealer pays Hyundai Motor America about $1000 to make a car CPO, since HMA offers the warranty.

Seems a little high for the milage. I'm a first time Genesis buyer and should be picking up a 2015 Ultimate CPO with less then 21k miles for $26.5 with no dealer fees ($1000) Of course S Fl has a lot of vehicles, every lot is full. As far as CPO, I found 4 items in less then 5 minutes that needed to be adressed (all CPO issues) before I'll sign anything. Wait around for some more opinions. I've only been on this site for 4 days and found it's posters a pretty well informed bunch. Good luck

Not sure what package the car has, but it is not the Ultimate because it does not have the DIS knob on the consul. At sticker, that added another 5K to the price. I traded my 2015 Ultimate with 39000 miles and got 24500 for it and the dealer was asking 26500. Based on that, this price is more than I would pay so do some negotiating.

thanks guys

would you buy with 30 to 40k miles ??

I traded mine at 39000 and it had little visible wear. You can tell the driver's seat was used but the others were near perfect. Mechanically, it was perfect and I see no reason it would not go on for a long time. If not abused, it should last you a long time. Jest look for a better price that a low miles.

I just bought one. Make sure to check the alignment of the sunroof and take it through its paces. I had to have mine back on track as I was signing papers. The service department did it at no charge, which they should have. Can't go wrong with CPO because they are certifying the car back to the original warranty (10yr/100k mile powertrain) The 5yr/60k mile is included so you have a lot of time on your bumper to bumper. Fix anything you can while under 60k miles and be anal about it; it's Free, most of the time...

so if i buy a 15 ( in service date lets say 2014 ) it would be 5 years from that date and the remaining miles up to 60k miles , is that bumper to bumper ? the power train is 10 100k from in service date ?
is that it

thanks

Yes, that is the way I interpret it. If not a CPO you get less.

There is no "bumper to bumper warranty." They call it a new vehicle limited warranty.

For example, the warranty covering the radio and Nav expires at 3 yrs/36,000 miles for '15 Hyundai vehicles. In other words, you may already have no warranty on those electronics items.

You can extend the bumper to bumper on cpo cars at the dealership. It's pretty pricey though. The original 5yr 60k miles will still apply.

Here are the Hyundai warranty details, except for the CPO warranty that restores the powertrain warranty to used cars. The details may vary by model year. Scroll down to see each warranty detail, including "New Vehicle Limited Warranty."

Yes, the car will have BlueLink in it and you can get an account to cover remote start as well as other plans available. I've had it on my last three cars. You download an app onto a smartphone and can use it to start the car, turn the defroster on , etc. It used to be spotty but now has been 100% reliable for me.
Three plans are available at $99 each

I've had aftermarket remotes that work well too. I imagine you can go that route too but with all the electronics in the car, find an installer that knows what he is doing.

here is a car i am looking at sat i am getting a good deal i believe OTD for 29k and they did the CPO on it

Price seems fair, not great. I traded that model with AWD three months ago and it had 39,000 miles. Dealer was asking 27.5k+tax, etc. but he did not CPO it

yea i wast going to get it but they are going to CPO it , that is out the door price ,
