  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2012 Genesis 3.8 Premium Tech

Bought it as CPO one-owner car from Hyundai dealer with 39K on odometer. Gave them my 2007 Hyundai Elantra with 240K miles as trade-in.

Price was $21,995, minus trade-in value of $2,300.

This Genesis was bought new from this dealer, and serviced by this dealer, so they know everything about it.

Very smooth and fast. Love it. It came with sunroof guard, and mud flaps already installed.

Thanks for the welcome.

After driving my Elantra for 240K miles, I'm a believer in Hyundai reliability. They can run with the Japanese in that department, plus they are still cheaper. So I guess that makes me a Hyundai customer for life.

I also like the Elantra Touring. Might still get that as a daily commuter.

Way to go it looks fabulous.

I have also owned 4 Hyundai vehicles in the past 30 years. Enjoyed every one and I am a Hyundai believer, however I have also had the pleasure in owning 4 older converted greyhound buses, each one had over 2 million miles. My next goal is to own a Genesis.

What a great site for help and education.

Good luck.

My father and step-mother have been buying Hyundai products for years - since the late 80s - and they're still doing it. So Hyundai is certainly doing something right...

Welcome. Nice story of $2300 for 240k Elantra... Wow.. Must have some life left in her for a beater... Or the real price you paid for Genny was actually less.. No matter.. Quick trivia question. That Elantra have a timing belt? If a chain, another reason to think Hyundai.. You would have gone through two timing belts by now with your trade..the new Elantra use a belt for drive train?

Yes my Elantra had a timing belt.

Enjoy! Chromed plastic side trim is a cheap and DIY upgrade. One of my first upgrades after buying.
