  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello fellow board members...!

Just wanted to say hello...I'm a to-be Genesis owner who's from Korea but currently living in Boston.

Great forum!

I'm in Southern California, but I was on a long-term stay in Seoul when my Genesis was being built in Ulsan (October 2008). The purchase decision was made in November 2008, when I was still in Seoul but had already decided that I wanted to sell my existing BMW as soon as I returned to the US. The swap was done just before Christmas, less than a week after my stateside return.

The coupe went on sale during my Seoul stay. If I had some extra money to burn and a larger garage, I would buy one.

Nice! Glad to hear someone who's been to the motherland.

My wife was actually born in Ulsan, though she moved to Seoul at an early age, so no gyung-san-do sah-too-lee (gyung san provice accent).

I'm also an owner of an E46. I have an 03 M3, my wife has an 06 E55 amg. We're selling my M for a Genesis..hopefully that'll be done sooner than later.

Thanks for reminding me of the accent. I never spent time in Ulsan, but I did spend a fair amount of time in Busan (via KTX) and Gyeongju (via rental car), so the dialect is familiar to me.

At least Korea is not China, where a different "dialect" turns out to be a different language altogether! (Well, even in Korea, Jeju dialect is a different language altogether, but I have yet to visit Jeju, so I'll worry about that later.)

The rental, btw, was an '06 Sonata N20, which I enjoyed. My avatar, for that matter, is the '79 Pony, as seen at an auto museum at Everland, one of my first destinations during my 3 months in Seoul.
