  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey everyone,

Just joined the Genesis club last week with a 2015 Genesis Sedan, 3.8L V6, AWD. Odometer is at ~121,000 km mainly highway driven. Car’s in fantastic shape with a clean history, and it’ll be my daily driver here in Alberta.
I’ve read a bit about common things to watch for on these (HTRAC servicing intervals, transmission fluid changes, intake valve cleanings etc.) but I’d love to hear from owners who’ve put some mileage on theirs — especially in cold climates.

I’m also curious about:

Preventive maintenance to keep it solid past 200k km
Recommended fluids for our winters (anything specific or whatever I can find from Canadian Tire)
Any must-do upgrades/mods for reliability?
Tips for keeping the exterior and undercarriage protected from Canadian winters

Looking forward to learning from you all and hopefully contributing more soon! I'll take some pics of the car once I'm back home.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on your new Genesis Sedan! :) What did the Genesis replace for you?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
It was a 2015 Mazda 3, GS. Beautiful car, I didn't want to upgrade to be honest, but I was forced to when a drunk driver crashed into it. Luckily, no one was in the car when it happened and it was written off entirely.

I know how you feel - those Mazda 3s are nice. The Genesis Sedan is a very different type of car. How are you liking it compared to the Mazda 3?

Honestly I'm enjoying it quite a bit but I haven't got the chance to put it through it's paces yet. A few strong pulls here and there in traffic put a smile on my face, but the Mazda was more flickable and could easily dart it around a corner or two. It's likely time in the seat, I did have the Mazda for almost 10 years before the accident.

The Genesis feels like I'm flying a big jet/luxury liner. Super quiet on long drives, barely feel or hear road noise, and in my opinion, the interior is leagues better than the interior of the Mazda.

It drives like it's ready to go at a moments notice... Just needs a little push, a gentle nudge into Sport or a gear down to get there. Both are awesome drives, and I haven't really owned a luxury sedan before this one so looking forward to putting more seat time in it :)

Yes, the Mazda was definitely made to handle well as a priority. Most luxury cars do the other stuff really well - having great power, a quiet interior at highway speeds, a comfortable ride, and lots of amenities. Outside of race car handling, the Genesis should take good care of you. :)
