  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all!

Just figured I'd pop in to post about my new purchase and to introduce myself to this community (which appears to be the largest of the Genesis communities). Previously, I was largely on the ClubLexus forums with over a thousand posts. Sorry for the large format pictures!

Picked up a 2015 White Exterior/Black interior Tech package with 26k miles in NJ. CPO Wrap coverage (platinum) extended warranty through April 2025/100k miles I think.

Here is the new whip, following a wash and wax with Ultimate Paint Protection Sealant - Did not decide to clay bar nor polish the vehicle with my random orbital just yet to preserve the paint as long as possible:

Previously drove a 2006 IS250 AWD for just under ten years. Lightly modded with spoilers, GFX kits, and HID Retrofits using SC430 projectors and Philips d2s bulbs

Also share a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe LT (only mod is Black Plastidipped wheels) with the family:

I love the look of this car from the top:

That contrasting black and white panda look =P

Anyway, I am really digging this car so far. I had been looking at Lexus GS, Jaguar F Pace, BMW 5 series and X5s, before settling on this. The value is just fantastic!

Can't wait to replace that Flying H emblem on the back, and to figure out how to change the stock yellow DRL lights into perhaps an LED bulb around the 5000K temperature range. I saw a very long post about it somewhere here, but didn't have the time to dig through it just yet.

Thanks for looking, and look forward to chatting with you all!

Welcome! I'm also a previous Lexus owner and CLF member (LS 460). Love my Genny, though I do miss some of the pure lux aspects of the LS and the awesome dealer experience. That said, you can't beat the value you get out of these cars! Def swap out that flying H that screams economy!

Congrats!👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊. I am a former 2014 Lexus GS 350 F Sport owner who picked up a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 Ultimate about a month ago, who was also on Club Lexus.

I am a former 2014 Lexus GS 350 F Sport owner who also misses the Lexus dealership experience. The Lexus dealer would have already resolved the issue with the flatspotted tires. I am working with the Hyundai dealership to get tires off another vehicle.

I'm in Jersey as well and am looking for a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L AWD w/ Tech Package and the Platinum CPO. If you don't mind, how much did you pay for the Car and the Platinum CPO?

Also I'm 20 min away from Liberty Hyundai. How was your experience with that dealership?

North Jersey here too. Just traded in my 09 4.6 w/ Tech for a CPO 2015 3.8 AWD w/ Tech package, Montecito Blue with gray interior (my first choice color and hard to find) at Liberty Hyundai. I miss the V8, but I live up in West Milford and the AWD is almost a must up here, I wouldn't let my wife drive my old Genesis in the snow as you had to be ready for the tail end to step out. I only got the regular CPO, not the full Platinum coverage, and paid $28,000 even + tax, $395 doc. fee and registration. If I recall, the upsell on the Platinum coverage was a little over $2k initially and they came down to a final offer of about $1200 before I finally declined. I drive 25-30k miles per year, so I'd only get about 2.5 yrs out of that coverage, so I'm more willing to take my chances. If I drove the standard 10k-15k I would definitely be more inclined to spend the money to get 6-7 years worth of coverage.

The people at Liberty were easy to deal with. Went in at noon, test drove, agreed on price by 2pm, they had the car detailed and updated the headunit for Apple CarPlay (it still had the original software version in it since CarPlay came out shortly after they started selling) and ready to go by 4:30pm when I came back to sign all the paperwork. Out by 5:30.

I bought my previous Genny at Paramus Hyundai as they had the car I was looking for at the time. Bluntly, they're a bunch of d-bags over there since they're the #1 volume dealer in NJ, they don't care if you buy from them. And their service department is a joke, some of the worst service I've ever received for anything. Most of my regular maintenance I do at a local garage in my town that I trust, but for dealer service I went to Franklin-Sussex when needed. They are super nice there too, but a hike up to Sussex. I would've bought my new Genny up there, but they are a smaller dealer and don't get much, if any, CPO Genesis inventory. I didn't even realize where Liberty was since I don't ever travel over that way on Rt 17. Haven't had any service done yet, but they seem like a decent place to deal with. Talking to my sales guy, he admitted they like to try harder since Paramus Hyundai is only 10 miles down Rt 17 and they don't get near the volume that they do.

Congrats! Beautiful ride! As far as claying the car, you should do it. This process does not remove any of the clear coat's surface. It only removes the stuff (buildup on top of he clear coat's surface) that regular car wash will not remove. It will make the surface of your car crazy smooth. While doing it, you will also see how much stuff was built up on the surface of your car. After you clay it, apply wax, sealant or ceramic coating if you don't want to polish. Clay will make your wax/sealant bond to the surface better and will last much longer. Below you can see how much buildup of dirt there was on my car after just few passes on the hood with the claybar (I bought my car used with 37k miles on it and what you see on the clay bar is 37k miles worth of dirt that keept building up):

I just came home from Liberty Hyundai as a proud owner of my 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L AWD w/ Ultimate Package for $27,995. The 10y/100k b2b Platinum was $1490 and after taxes and everything I walked out with $31,880. The car only has 22k miles on it :)

I'M SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Also I was very unhappy with the service that Paramus and Lynns Hyundai provided. Liberty Hyundai is top class.. no BS and ready to work to get your business which I respect. They went above and beyond to assist me in driving away with that car same day.

Better deal than I got! Congrats, and enjoy!

I've never heard of anyone NOT using a random orbital buffer to preserve paint, unless the car is brand new? Am I missing something?

To anyone who is still up in the air about the Ultimate. The heads up display has already changed my driving habits. I'm more conscious of blindspots and speed limits. Hell I didn't even realize that there was a speed trap in my town until I noticed it on the HUD.

Still a little salty about not getting the carplay update because I hate how the car tries to default to pandora whenever i plug in my iphone using the builtin usb port but i just reused my old usb car charger and bluetooth.

Don't like the idea of grinding down and smoothing the clearcoat just to wipe away a few swirls which will reappear within a few weeks/months. For heavier oxidation/damage, then yes, the equation changes for me !

Apple Carplay is buggy and in my opinion, a USB car charger off the cigarette lighter with bluetooth is preferable anyday. You're not missing out!

I just called Liberty and talked to a guy in finance that told me they don't sell the Hyundai genuine warranty...
I hope he's less informed than the folks you all worked with!
