  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone. I just joined the forum and have attempted to learn as much as I can regarding the negotiating/dealership experience by doing some searches but I still feel a bit lost. A little background, I currently own a 2010 Audi S4 (purchased in 2012) and have been intrigued by the G70 Sport AWD for sometime. I bought the S4 from a dealership and financed it for 3 years and that is the only experience I have with dealerships. I live in Indianapolis and there are some G70's in the area that seem to be sitting for months and still listed at MSRP. I have no interest in leasing, with a reasonable trade in value I think I could possibly pay for the car outright but most likely finance like 15-20k just to play it safe for a while and pay it off in a year or two at the most. Does anyone have any advice on how to approach this scenario? I see that there is a member who is offering certificates for employee pricing. Is that the Circle A plan? Again, this is all new to me. Im sorry im sure these questions have been asked before. I'm trying my hardest to digest all the info. I would also qualify for the Conquest discount. The vehicles I'm looking at have msrp around $52,700. What's a good target number to shoot for?

Welcome!

I just used the Hyundai Circle price to buy a G70 3.3T AWD Dynamic Edition last week.

Here's how that breaks down:

MSRP: $53,640.00
Invoice: $51,124.00
Hyundai Circle Discount: $1,579.35
Hyundai Circle Cash: $250.00
Circle Plan A Price: $49,294.65

You're looking at about a $4,300 discount off MSRP with Circle Plan A pricing. I've seen a few posts about folks getting close to that price by just haggling. My experience is... I start with the fourth or fifth dealership closest to your house, and start trying to get the best possible price. Then pit it against the next closest, etc. Hopefully you can get the best price near your house... or at least you'll have a few dealerships nearby trying to get your business. I've used this approach without ever setting foot in an actual dealership - just speak to a salesperson on the phone!

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Ruissimo. I was thinking 49k was a good target price so thats fairly inline with what you described. If I can get the Conquest incentive additionally to bring it down to 48k that would basically be a similar outcome without having to deal with the Circle pricing. I'm still trying to digest all the posts with information regarding the lease option and then buying out the lease immediately. It looks like based on some user's posts that might be a better route but I'll have to do more research.

tegsr94, I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I've been doing a ton of research on purchasing a G70 and this forum seems to have the best information. I don't have enough post yet to pm r_spec to get a Circle a pricing certificate. I'm thinking of going to the dealership this weekend and see if I can negotiate $4k off a $50,770 MSRP or just wait until I can get the Circle a pricing.
