  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bought cheap for a fixer upper. Engine check light was on but started and ran good. Took it to Auto Zone and general code pointed to “replace fuel pump”
Sub codes all refer to random misfires circuit misfires, slow response, and system too lean.
removed the battery cable to reset the code and drove it for about 10min. At the first stop light it sputtered as if it were about to shut down. Slow acceleration getting back on the freeway and the check engine started flashing for about 30 seconds then came back on. It smoothed out when I finally got up to speed and drove back home and parked.
I have ordered a new pump kit from Amazon and a fuel filter from a local dealer. All parts in the assembly look good. Waiting on parts to reassemble.
Would appreciate any comments on if I’m on the right track or anything else that would commonly cause this problem.
Thanks in advance

If the plan for this purchase was to "Fix it up" I would recommend you purchase a high-level scan tool. Not sure you would want frequent trips to Autozone for their scans.

Thanks scottdk. Do you have a recommendation for a type/brand?

Amazon has a number of choices, maybe look into the "Launch OBD2 Scanner CRP129E". $236 with a $13 digital coupon. This tool can scan more systems than scanners under $100 for sure. Supports 57 car brands including Hyundai.

Scans:
Engine
ABS
AC
SRS airbag
Transmission systems
EPB - Electronic Parking Brake
SAS
TPMS
TPS Reset
Battery voltage

So does it fix any of the EPB issues or just lets you know that its broken? Thanks
