  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

If you bought the R-Spec today, how did you get you license plates so quick? Are you allowed to transfer plates from an old car?

Yes, we are allowed here in Illinois.

And his plate is a custom one too.
a few states allow transferring the old one.
Any mod in the plan for the Gennie.ie.debadging?
First Hyundai purchases?
Welcome to the Hyundai family.

You need to replace the flying H on the trunk with wings.

Thanks!
We traded in my 2013 Santa Fe 2.0T AWD with 5400 miles on it, and Wife's SF 2010 GLS, since she wanted one with 3rd row :p

wow...I just noticed that! oh yeah .....definitely need to get some wings. From ebay or the dealer? sorry, I am new to those cars, I came from bimmers family and I have owned couple of 540's since since 2002 and I'd never put aftermarket parts on them, always OEM.

You can get them on eBay or a website from an importer of Korean auto parts. The wings are standard equipment on the Korean version of the Genesis, so have to be purchased from a Korean dealer and imported.

There are lots of threads that discuss how to replace the H on the rear trunk (with photos and some videos). For the R-Spec wheel hubs, you can use the same wings as fits the 17" Base Trim wheels. I waited until I needed new tires to actually replace them, and had the tire shop do it.

Thanks Mark, I'll do some research as soon as I'll have more time.

I love both cars! :welcome:

Don't let me wife see this post. We have been looking at the same Sante Fe for her. She is holding out hoping that the Vera Cruz (or something similar) will come back.

Alright...time to do some work around my new toy ;)

I'm starting with Weathertech liners. The factory store is located near my home, so I stopped by and got a set. They fit like a glove.

More stuff is coming from Korea, it should be here next week ;)

Did you get front and rear Weathertech Liners? What did they cost you?

Only front (at least for now) since usually no one is sitting on the back seat.

I paid 109.95+9.35tax=119.30

These are worth every penny. I had them on my 2013 Santa Fe and removed them prior to trade in, then put on Wife's 2014 SF ....saved ~$175

Here is another mod: LED license plate lights.
I just couldn't wait and I got them from AutoZone. They look good, not too bright and I think I like it, lol

OEM bulb is on the left side in first 2 pictures.

sorry about the quality, I was too lazy to go and get my camera. Instead, I used an iPhone.

Oh, ugly frame will go in next week or two.

I got my WeatherTech late last year (all 4 pieces) on eBay.
And I did want to mess around with the car hence the mod to the WeatherTech piece.
(The OEM left foot rest dead pedal was just a tad too far for my comfort for long distance driving)
After the mod, it's now dead on where I wanted.
My left foot is happy. So am I :)

Sat in a '15 Genesis today. Thankfully, they seem to have put the dead pedal right where it should be, unlike the '09-'14 models. Like you, I solved that problem myself in my car.

@videopho
Now your teasing me with those pedals! :p

Seriously, I wish there was a "real" third pedal in our cars!

I got better pics now. I was afraid it might be too bright, but it looks perfect for me.

Oh yeah...I got rid of that frame already!

The lights look nice!....What was involved in replacing them? Was it easy?

Thank you!
Yes, very easy...it took me 10 min. to replace both of them, you'll need phillips screwdriver ...and maybe one beer :D

^Can you provide the led p/n or a link?
TY
