  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New member - new car(s)

@videopho

Don't kid yourself, you know you want it :D

as for the vanity lights - I may pass on them. I just gonna quote someone from this forum...and I think he is right.

I looked at doing that. But the color temperature of the existing incandescent bulbs is closer to night lighting that you will find at parties, restaurants, etc. My wife likes to see what her makeup looks like in the lighting where she'll be. The LEDs are closer to the blue-white lighting from the sun so that would only be helpful for a daytime function. And hey... lighting for daytime already exists! They call it the SUN:p

BTW- I LOVE the fact that the vanity bulbs don't blare you in the face. Great design.

btw.
I think I know how to dig them out without breaking anything :rolleyes:

LOL. I've always wanted a r2c but it ain't looking all that promising. So the k&n is the interim. As for the mirror lights. You're right its not that something I actually wanted to do anyway. The reverse light is next when the part arrives from southern California.

Looks like I'll be doing tinting next week or so....I just received my monthly "allowance" from my wife :p

wITH THAT WINDOW TINT, ANOTHER DINNER IS A-COMIN'! Sorry about the caps! My car, sitting at the dealer, which I am picking up on the 17th this month, the ORIGINATING dealer had already installed a block heater, for the frigid cold in Winnipeg, and did a full window tint, for the 2 days of warmth they get. Go figure.

Anyhow, my trunk wing is in at the dealer to be installed, and the wheel centers are on order, and the KN filter can wait, unless I get some added cash, and maybe a CAI. Right now, I'll keep it stock. Don't need any warranty issues with these Hyundai service writers, just yet. Another week or so, and I'll be crusin the streets in my new RSPEC. Can wait cause I REALLY ENJOY MY cx-7 turbo awd

@punchjamesarnol

Thanks......yes, it was :D

@CLASSYRSPEC

I don't mind taking her out for dinners............as long as she pays the bill - I'm cool with that :D
After all, she makes more money than me, working from home.

Thanks bud!

I don't know if I can "see" any difference, it might be a few decibels louder. Probably no one would notice unless they were told.

Car seems to respond a little bit faster though. (maybe its just my imagination :D )

If K&N stands by its product as saying a few hp's will be gained then we may have to wait for the car's ECU to adopt or adjust.
I knew it from the coupe after installing the cai in my car, it took a couple of full tanks to start unleashing the beast's hidden power.
No, the K&N is no where near a cai but a few extra ponnies gained won't hurt.

New license plate frame....I bought 2 because I couldn't decide which one to get. Now I know the slim one will go on the front, that is if I ever gonna put anything there :D

.....and the Wife got one too! :D

oh, one more thing:

I have received the gift from Hyundai! kinda weird they send us (for both cars) wash clothes?! :D ;)

Nice name plate.
It's even nicer when it's free.:)
I've yet gotten nothing from Hyundai, 8th month into the ownership and counting.:(
I'm still looking for that size of license plate screws made in either machine finish or chrome.

I also received the eye glass cloth. Pretty pointless but came in an impressive package. All of which I tossed out.

LOL, that's what we did too, kinda lame on their part, right? especially when you spent ~60k on their products :D

Guys, Wife is making me put wings on the hood, she said it completes the car (I can't argue with her if I want to eat sushi ever again, she said) ....can you tell me the measurement how high from the grille?

Ok, done :)

She won so did you.:)
I like the way mine looks after I installed it.
It's one of those easy mods
That if you ever change your mind, it should come off rather easily.
On the side note, your trunk lid's lower right looks rather busy.;)

I wasn't sure how it will look, but now I kinda like it. (and she likes it alooooot) ;)

OEM badges will stay there.

I was never a fan of debadged cars, always though that people are ashamed of them. They put on fake badges, just like the owners of bmw e39 528 they put ///M's :D

On second though, it doesn't look that bad, does it? actually, I like it very much.

Damn.....maybe I should stop reading your advice? :D

You must be good at photoshop.
I like it too.
May be mine will look like that once the current look starts wearing off on me.

Yes, I love photoshop, I use CS6 and it's pretty easy and simple to remove an object/s using Content-Aware ;)

I used "Lasso Tool" to mark the outline, then right click on picture -> Fill...

Not too busy anymore.
I was disappointed that the lettering was actually a stickers! it just started to peeling off after I washed the car. I though it was engraved...at least it look like that from the picture :mad:

The slim frame is too small, it doesn't fit in corners! what a BS!

I'll leave it like that for now...

Not sure I understood what you were saying?
You did the wing hood badge but left the right lower rear trunk lid badges (stocked) alone?
