  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Official 1/4 Mile Thread

Under tonight's conditions it probably would run 12.5x@111 easy. Is there a list for 1/4 mile bone stock G70's? We might go to Orlando or SGMP next weekend, try and get a 12.5 out of it while still completely stock.
Does completely stock include tires? Wont matter if it’s AWD, but will if rear drive. Just curious.

Stock should include the stock tires. However it's hard to fault someone if the car is used as the tires may have been changed from original factory tires or if it's just a different model year. This is why we ask that people just list what the tires are. Tread and compound make a difference, even if only slightly.

Greetings everyone, I have been reading about the G70/Stingers because I hope to get one soon and stumbled onto this thread. My brother ran his G70 last night, and it was pretty impressive so I figured I'd post it.

2021 G70 RWD, 100% showroom floor bone stock, no weight reduction at all, 93 octane. Air was the best you could ask for in Florida in April. Don't know the exact DA at time of pass but I'm sure it was under 100. 12.68@110.33. I'll post the timeslip, don't have a pic of the car but I'll take one tomorrow. Run at Gainesville Raceway.
Congrats to your brother on purchase and slip. We'll get this updated for you guys in the morning.

His trap speed on a stock G70 is the highest I've seen so far. I was skeptical and then remembered that most of the cars that get posted are awd and the higher trap is probably the weight difference. Hope to get more of his slips posted soon!

That's an amazing ET and trap speed for all stock. I know it's been said before, but we've sure come a long way since the 60s - or the 80s when a Corvette had like 180hp!
The G70 - Quick, fast, comfortable, practical, decent ride, good handling, great steering, 20mpg (give or take, haha), low emissions, packed with features and reliable. Technology!
It's hard to believe it would walk my old SS 396 (which was traction challenged to be sure) but the numbers don't lie.

I'm not sure these days, LOL. People throw the term "stock" around but the car isn't really stock in my opinion. I've been racing for a long time, from 8 second fox Mustangs to a 92 Saturn that ran 14.4@97 with a 75 shot almost 20 years ago, and about 15 other vehicles in between.

When I say "completely stock" or "bone stock" to me that means as the car was when sold off the showroom floor. So to answer your question, yes I consider that on factory tires. Basically my definition of "100% bone stock" means NOTHING done to the car, factory tires, no removing the spare tire/jack, removing seats, no pulling out air filters, etc.

That is very true, we were talking about the exact same thing. I had a 93 Trans Am (the dreaded optispark LT1) back around 2004-2005, it had AFR heads, a healthy sized cam, long tube headers, every bolt on you can think of and a 3800 stall converter. It consistently ran 7.8-7.9@90-91 in the 1/8th. Low 12's@113-114 in the 1/4.

And a bone stock G70 runs 8.2@88, that's not far off from a highly modded V8 "muscle car" I owned in the past LOL. Like you said, technology is awesome.

Thank you sir, here's a few pics of the car. I also need to correct myself, it is a 2022, not 2021. I thought they got a leftover 2021 but he assured me it's a 2022 G70 3.3 RWD.

AWD certainly would be more weight in general and rotating mass as well. Wouldn't have helped either because the car dead hooked on all but one pass. The air temp/DA was also phenomenal for Florida in April, combined with a slight tailwind is probably where the 110mph trap came from. Wasn't a fluke though I don't think, the last pass there was zero wind and it still ran 12.8@109.

Sorry for the multiple posts, here's a link of the pass. It's poor quality because we're not tech savvy but I'll get a better one shortly. The left lane that ran 12.46@120 on the timeslip I posted was a C6 Corvette with full bolt ons and drag radials.

So if you look on page 1 of this thread, there's a table that I put in all the data. Just let me know what tires are on the car so that I can input that as well. Thanks!

If your brother joins the forum, we'll get it updated with his info to give due credit.

New Entry!

I saw that, very cool and thank you sir for doing that. Hopefully my brother will join the forums soon and you can just switch the usernames out. I don't like the feeling that I'm riding someone else's coattails or bragging about a car that isn't mine.

I'll verify tires tomorrow, but it has whatever a factory 2022 RWD comes with I know that.

Here is all 4 timeslips from the night. The two slower passes were both made in the left lane, which you can't really drive around the water/burnout box so it spun slightly. One pass was also made right after an hour drive to the track, the next one hot lapped with zero cooldown.

The 12.6@110 was after a decent cooldown and made in the right lane where you can actually go around the waterbox. There was a slight tailwind helping, but nothing crazy. 12.8@109 was the final pass and the wind was gone by then.

Went to the track yesterday, got a personal best of 11.668 at my best MPH 116.22. Had a technical issue with the JB4 and could not connect, as a last ditch effort I beat the connect adaptor and it connected for the last run , so did not get to make any adjustments all day. Next time I guess

Not bad. But curious if the BMW was also tuned, or OEM? Hope the former, since it's also heavier than our car.

I would guess definitely tuned. Stock M340 runs low 12s.

I talked to the guy quite a bit, he had almost $10k into his build (Electronics(Tune), Intercooler, turbo back exhaust, High pressure fuel pump, intake, plugs, running e45), so I did not feel to bad losing to that car but still being close. I have spent less than half of what he has and was still within a few 100th of his best

New best here!!

22 G70 sports prestige awd
JB4 on map 3. 10 gallons 93 2 gallons e85
BMS intake
Denso plugs at .022
Everything else stock.
