  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New ordered G70's

And yet you bought a Genesis. Why?
Because the G70 has absolutely phenomenal cup-holders. Seriously, underrated part of the car. They can't quite hold a two liter bottle, but anything smaller than that, you're probably good,.

Was this recently? This Covid thing jammed alot up. I would think the "ordering" route would be easier for Genesis since they have it set as packages as opposed to multiple individual add ons. I know when I did my Audi, I could add almost every option of next level package. But, there was a point where it would make sense to get that next level up package/configuration. With my Benz (GLC), it was more like Genesis than Audi... not as many options to pick from. So much so, we were able to find one in Minn. and they shipped it to MI. Genesis would charge for that distance (at least the dealer I was going through) while Benz did not. The other thing to remember is the number of units shipped to the US. I don't think the numbers are as great as those others.

Still, I think a lot can ride on how aggressive the dealer wants to be AND maybe where they fall in the pecking order vs. other dealers. The bigger dogs do have pull to make things happen easier.

It was last summer. I think you make a good point, it is really depending on the willingness of dealers to go the extra mile. I contacted several dealers in the SE (in TN, AL, and GA) and none of them tried to help me, that's when I started shopping across the country.

Because I really like the car and what Genesis (as a manufacturer) is doing. I hated the buying experience (and I am not convinced about the dealer experience for service) but the car is awesome. I was cross-shopping with a M340i (hated the looks and the bleh interior) and a MB C43 AMG (did not wanted AWD, but no choice there but AMG Performance Exhaust sounds fantastic). Both germans were 15k higher (not worth it in my opinion) and the G70 excited me more, really love the way it drives and the interior, plus I wanted to support the brand with my hard-earned dollars, we need more manufacturers to propose RWD cars with a focus on driving pleasure and good chassis tuning. Just too bad the dealer networks is not there yet but I could live with it all things considered.

My experience buying 3 Hyundais has always been the same. It seems among the dealers there’s the “haves” and “have-nots.” As helpful as the “have-nots” try to be, at the end of the day, it seems that I just have to go to one of the “haves” and find the one (or closest) to the one I’m looking for.

Quick question: Does anyone know if the G70 inventory has all shipped for the 2020 model year? In other words, is it expected that there would be any more inventory arriving as it is almost July?

Good question. I don't know the answer. I do know that my order for the 2020 that was placed in January (late) supposedly got canceled. Dealer said he could resubmit but admitted that I'd likely not see it until October AND it would be a 2021. There was a chance that my original order, if it was filled, may have had the new headlights. No one knew one way or the other. Covid created a mess. I'm liking my darker Blue G70 so I'm happy with my 2020.
