  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New owner and Hyundai employee chiming in

So no talk of the 3-D cluster?
That all depends if regulations allow for it.
We didn't get Rear View Monitor or HDA even though Korea had it.
Digital maybe but 3D may be deemed too distracting but who knows!

I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a Hyundai manager (at one of the automotive plants) for many years. I'm a big car guy but Hyundai never really had anything that truly excited me (I haven't owned a car with less than 500 hp in a while). With that said, we have the ability to order company cars so I put in my order today for a G70 3.3T AWD Sport in Siberian Ice with the red stitching.

Have to say I'm excited to see how the evolution of the 3.3T progresses. It seems to be taking well in the Stinger community so I have a lot of faith in the aftermarket community. I need to order a JB4 today and some lowering springs. Forget the break in period, we have to order a new car every 10 months so I don't have to worry about the wear and tear on the engine. ;)

If you ever have hard to answer questions you can't get from the dealer, I work directly with a lot of the engineers who design things (not this particular vehicle but I have contacts across the company).

Happy to be here!
Hi! I am new to the forum as well and just purchased a G70 3.3 Prestige in Siberian Ice with the light grey interior. I cam from an Alfa Romeo Giulia TI which I really did love and it ran soo good! I just got tired of the dealership experience as there are only two dealerships in the valley (Phoenix) and one of them is terrible. I am really loving this car and am also thinking about lowering it and adding the JB4 as well. Once you install the lowering springs and JB4 can you please post pics and let us know how it runs? I am also thinking about adding the pedal to it (I do’t remember the brand) to get rid of the turbo lag. It’s not bad in this car but I had it on my Alfa and it made a HUGE difference in acceleration. I am not sure if you know anyone that has installed it on the G70 but if you do, can you post how they like it and which brand they bought?

Thanks and I am happy to be a new member and owner of this amazing car!

^ Welcome aboard @G70girl. There are many knowledgable members here who should be able to get you any information you need.

Congratulations on the new car! Good luck, enjoy and be safe.

Nice! I test drove the Giulia Ti AWD before buying the G70. I fell in love with the Giulia, and honestly one of the things that sold me over on the G70 was that the steering feel and suspension actually reminded me of how awesome the Giulia felt. But with this car, you get more power, more luxury, all while still being unique.

There are a couple members here who have the JB4 and they love it. I'm planning on putting one in myself, along with water injection and a few other bolt-ons.

Enjoy your sweet new car!

It is great to have an employee so close to the company here!

Do you know if you can order the spare tire bracket for the G70 Dynamic Edition to fit it with a spare tire?

Do you know when the ECU update is going to be available for customers in the USA?

Thanks

^ Excellent question.

^ Wonder if OP has heard anything about Genesis doing a special edition of the G70 w/ a bit more power and a more track-focused suspension tune (would not be a full-blown performance variant)?

Word is that Kia is doing so w/ the Stinger (or, at the very least, has it in development).

^Cool. Now it's finally up to the same level as the G70, just heavier.

^ yeah...there’s already 2 at launch @ 400 units each.

The Stinger will have a drift model that will be released next year... Link below.

2020 Kia Stinger GTS Is an Orange Special Edition with a Drift Mode up Its Sleeve

Talking about something different (the Stinger GTS doesn't bring anything new that the G70 doesn't already have, aside from maybe more carbon-fiber bits).

An engineer for Kia America stated that they were working on a more powerful Stinger (still the same engine block, so figure increased boost) w/ suspension upgrades (referred to it as an R-Spec model).

Would be interesting to see if it happens. If so, perhaps I can harvest its organs for my G70.

I'm sure @Beefer will have the first one. Just take it off his hands once he decides he wants a new car 2 years into his lease

Edit: He also won't let anyone hear the end of it that he got the first one either :roflmao:
