  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just bought a new 2015 Genesis 3.8 with the Tech package. I love this car! :D Traded in a 2013 Honda Accord EX-L V6 with Navigation that I hated with a passion often reserved for.

Couple questions:
-While idling in park (and sometimes at a light), the steering wheel has a slight vibration. Has anyone else seen this?
-I am still reading through the extensive manuals, but I have been hearing a 'ding-dong' type of noise occasionally. Anyone know what that is?
-Are there PDFs of the 2015 manuals floating around here?

Great informative forum so far!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm going to let the pros answer the Genesis questions. But I'd love to know why you hated your Accord so much. Let me know...

The Accord? Ick... the seats were tremendously uncomfortable, anything longer than 30 minutes and your ass was sore. The stereo was dreadful, like REALLY dreadful. The navigation had poor traffic support and was a pain to use. The car rattled so bad it drove me crazy. I took it to the dealer a few times and they couldn't fix it. The remote start required line of sight and an additional key fob. It was fast and had good gas mileage, but that was the only good things in my opinion.

I don't miss that car at all. The Genesis is a dream to drive.

Do you hear that ding dong noise near your house? Do you have your house set in the gps? Its the noise I get everytime the cursor on the map crosses over my house on the map signaling I am home.

Welcome! PDFs manuals are available on the Hyundai Owner's site and also in the car itself (at least in the Ultimate). I downloaded from Hyundai and keep on my laptop.

Yep, I guess that's it. I had figured that was what it was. Thanks!

Thank you for the comparison. Yeah, I can imagine the Accord doesn't compare, at all, to the Genesis...

It is the AC unfortunately, turn it off and the vibration goes away. I also notice the vibration before the engine warms up (when idling within the first 5 minutes of driving) but goes away when I have a few bars on the temperature gauge...

You can turn that ding-dong noise off if you like...it's an option. I shut mine down. Couldn't quite figure out the purpose of the sound anyway? Do you not know you've arrived at home? :-)

^^ you are so dead on..Had a rented current year Honda Accord at a Penske owned Hertz rental for biz. Horrible seats, radio, Chintzy feel, copycat 2009 Genesis rear design... Certainly not like the car the Kool-Aid drinkers Car and Driver fawn over. They are nuts. :)

Congrats, and welcome.
