  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New owner here with 2025 GV80 Coupe question

I never set up a second driver on my car, and I am not sure if I even set up myself as it never asked me who I am. My wife rarely drives the car so why bother. This way I don't have those issues.

On another forum, last week your wife posted how she hates the setup for the car she sometimes uses. Said she had to adjust everything to her liking every time she gets in. Someone suggested she gets a new fob.

ok, we cleared the settings and tried one last time. No good. Now neither 1 or 2 button hold the correct position. Only by logging into profile does the seat go to where it should. Have appointment Monday with out of town dealer. Keep ya posted! thanks everyone for trying to solve this one....

You'd have to do a test to see which memory setting it uses. My wife and I both use the saved settings in Memory 1 for each of our Profiles, so after I confirm it's me driving, my Memory 1 settings automatically start engaging, and I don’t have to touch a thing, which is why I previously made the "no buttons to push" comment. The same thing happens for my wife.

Some guessing on my part:
If you pushed the Memory 2 button on your Profile the last time you drove, I’d say there’s a good chance your seat, steering wheel, etc. will use your Memory 2 settings the next time you get in and don't touch either button.

More guessing:
To take it a step further, if you’re the tall one in the family and saved the Memory 2 button on your wife’s Profile just to get into the car comfortably after she drove the previous day, I’m guessing her Memory 2 settings will engage the next time she gets in and doesn't touch either button. Plus, those aren’t her normal driving settings, so she’ll need to press the Memory 1 button after confirming it’s really her driving.
That’s confusing enough to actually makes sense:) It is exactly what’s happening.

Regarding the programed seat buttons on the door. When you open the door at night, should these buttons be lit up?
Mine are dark until you get in and start the vehicle.

Gonna try the setting of the buttons one more time before our Dec apt. To clarify, as per owner manual, car has to be in the ON position to do this seat button setting programming - not with engine running?

When you open your drivers door at night and the car is off, do the seat position buttons illuminate? Mine do not and the dealership is telling me they are not supposed to light up. The owners manual states they are supposed to illuminate.
