  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New owner, hopefully not new problems

They gave you a break so good on them. They were not required to do that
So true. Some dealerships are great on customer service and some are not. Hell, it sometimes just depends on the service manager working at the time so even a good dealership overall can still end up denying your claim because a service manage had a bad day.

They may have been. Service manager said Hyundai does 'warranty extensions' on things that are problem areas. The pano roof is definitely one of those! Also interesting to note, G90 and G70 both skipped that option altogether. Wonder why...lol

That would've been nice to know for mine. They wanted money appearently

That is a good question. Usually the G90 would get the most reliable tech Hyundai has to offer to compete with the other large luxo sedans.

Apparently they did want the pano roof issues to turn away the top dollar buyers maybe. I am not sure why the G70 does not have the option.

Probably not easy to remove it from the G80 but given the problems, just not offer it on future models. We'll see when the new G80 comes out in 2020 or 2021.

You will get your answer if you ask all the owners of Genesis and other brands that have had their pano sunroofs rattle, creak, or explode.

It's also the same sunroof that KIA uses with their Optima and Stinger. I'm not sure about the other models. Their forums indicate it is company wide.

I hardly ever open mine. If I do, it's in the vent setting. The summer days are to hot to have the shade open so it's usually closed. It is nice to have on a cool fall day though. It's an additional "ambient light" light if you will.

I have straight-up asked salespeople why they don't offer it on the G90 (knowing full-well the real answer). The canned response is 'the age of the buyer for that car is one that doesn't care about panoramic roofs'. LOL

If I were Genesis I would've gone with a 2-panel design like the S class or just a full glass roof (that doesn't open) like Tesla.

That's exactly what I do. I wish I could've gotten the ultimate trim without it though.

It helps with resale if you have more options. People like more! LOL I do like the automatic sunshade but I find it odd that they have a manual shade on the G90. The Subaru Forester has a pano-roof and has a manual sunshade. You have to reach back pretty d*mn far to open and close it fully. Some things just don't make sense from a consumer standpoint.
