Finally swapped out my 2015 G80 for a 2019 G70 3.3 T with only 120 miles on it. Smells new.
Obviously a completely different car. Giving up some smoothness on rough surfaces and quietness for much better handling.
Only problem is that the driver's seat and wheel exit/entry feature doesn't work and I posted that in the technology section.
A few points and comments.
My last turbo was the classic, Toyota Supra (1993) . This was only a 3.0T , but it was way far quicker than this car. Not sure if it weighed much less. Does this make any sense? Higher engine compression?
I was told that on that car, I should not kick in the turbo until the oil heats up and let the oil cool off a little with idle mode before turning the engine off to avoid coking. Are these rules still in effect with this obviously more modern turbo?
Am I supposed to use 91 grade gas in this car as recommended? What's the downside for using regular? Turbo damage?
Do you really have to change the oil every 3000 miles? I was told synthetic lasts at least 6000 and that's the change. I was doing on my Toyota . They also recommended changing the oil after about 300 miles to eliminate break in grinding debris. I don't see this in the manual, but do you think it's a good idea?
Overall, very happy with this car. Not sure why people are paying more for a BMW or Audi.
