  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello All!
Picked up a 2015 last week 21400 miles. Love the car...upgraded from a Sonata. My question has to do with Navigation System. Why does it chime when I get to certain locations, ie my house as I pull up, even when the GPS was not set? Also I see red squares with a white P on the map. How do I remove them? Any help would be appreciated! Bruce

This was discussed before but I don't recall the exact setting. It has to do with places you've been to. Unless someone gives details. hunt through the settings and look for a box to uncheck.

If you put your address into the 5 shortcuts when you are at that area it will chime. If you go to the shortcut settings in navigation I believe there is the option to turn off the chime

Like the post above - you've saved the address in some way. You can select whether it will notify you or not to turn off the chime. OR you can turn the volume down for the NAV system altogether

On my '16 3.8 Ultimate: each memory point in the address book has a checkbox for "Sound Notification"
You have to select menu and edit to get there from the address book.

Just a suggestion, NEVER put your address in the car or any other GPS device including your cell phone. If someone steals your car then they also know where you live, and you are not there. I use the local police department address.

Seems like a bit of overkill. Just my opinion.

A friend of mine lost his iPhone. The next day while he and his wife were at work, someone broke into his home and stole some valuables. it could be related, or maybe not related. I just don't take that chance. Just my opinion.

I think the causation depends more on whether your friend had a strong PIN on their phone (or any PIN at all) so they could deduce the home address. I don’t see how can be caused by storing your address in the car.

Anything could be related but not nessarily the cause.
