New owner! Remote start question

Hey all - I've been lurking here for a while but thought I'd sign up and add my $0.02. I picked up a low mileage 2015 Genesis a few months ago and it came with a Hyundai branded remote starter already installed. The thing about this - I can use my factory key fob to start the car by pressing lock button and then holding the alarm/panic button for a quick 1-2 count. The starter comes with its own 2-way single button fob as well if you wanted to use that instead - but it works just fine with the factory fob once you learn the timing on the 1-2 count part. If you hold it too long, the horn starts honking, too short and it wont start.

Anyways - just though I'd let you all know.

So you press and HOLD the lock button while also pressing alarm button?

Sorry - I should have explained it better.

Single press lock button (no hold), followed by alarm button press (for about a second or so).

For reference, the model number on the back of the non-factory Hyundai remote start key fob is RED301-2WSS. I'm not sure if that corresponds to a particular Hyundai starter module or not - but whatever was installed on my car certainly allows me to use the factory fob to start it.

Yep - I'm under the impression that the aftermarket remote start is Hyundai's own though. That RED301-2WSS fob that I have has the flying 'H' and Hyundai logo on the back of it. So I assume the person before me had it done through the dealership. This is pure speculation on my part though - I'd have to pull down some panels and find the actual module to be sure of the make.
