  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Picked up a 2013 r-spec today with 30 miles. Love the car. Unfortunately my 04 Acura TL was totaled last week and Ive been wanting to get rid of my 2011 Santa Fe also. The Santa fe was a 4 year lease with 48k miles. I was 28 months into the lease with 37k miles already. Hyundai took the Santa fe from me and bought out my lease. I took a 2,000$ loss on the truck but the longer I waited the bigger that gap was becoming.

I needed a great highway car for commuting that also had some nice power. Even though my TL made around 700hp at the crank (built motor and boosted), Ill settle for 429 hp now lol.

Anyway, Im happy right now with this purchase. One question though...are the r-spec floor mats supposed to come standard? The dealer said no

and my previous acura. RIP...

My 2013 rspec came with "genesis" mats. I called my salesman because the window sticker specified "rspec" mats. He said the car comes with the mats in the trunk from the factory and that's what was in my car.

Did you get no mats or genesis mats. Also check your window sticker

The RSpec absolutely comes with RSpec mats standard.
I'd go back to your dealer and ask for your set.

Welcome to the board. Were you on Acurazine?

Welcome.....yes the rspec is suppose to come with r spec mats its part of the package.

I have the regular "genesis" mats. I also test drove a silver '13 r-spec that had "r-spec" mats but that car had 5,000 demo miles and I wasnt touching that car.

When I realized I had the regular mats I went back to the dealer and they said the r-spec mats are not standard. Ill have to check the sticker like you guys mentioned.

nsxnext, yes I was on acurazine

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Wow, why would they NOT be standard? I think that dealer is full of bologna. All R-Specs come with the mats.

It even states it on the Hyundai website, the last thing listed.

Welcome aboard:welcome:

Sad for your TL:( That's a clean ride and beautiful motor, that generation TL is the best IMHO before it became its current bloated self. I miss my 03 EX-L V6 Accord coupe still:o

Yes, you should get a set of R Spec mats. I'm certain your dealer can order them for you... free of charge.

My dealer tried to do the same thing to me - I didn't notice until I got home... but I went back for them.

Beautiful TL and build-up-- a shame that it was a loss, what sort of fuel mgmt system was on there? Any bits from CT-Engineering?... I'm in an '07 TL-S right now and hope to be in the a WSP r-spec by July.

Did your dealer have that one on the lot or did they have to trade to get it in? Congrats man, keep us posted on your impressions & enjoy!

Wow I never knew there was such a thing 700hp Acura TLs. I also had an 04 TL (also white :-) ) that was stock. I can't even imagine what that much power would feel like.

Also wonder how to handle 700hp in a FWD car:eek: Pretty sweet machine though:cool:

I was running a megasquirt ecu with 1000cc injectors and fuel return setup. No parts from comptech but rather a custom built kit

The dealer had 2 r-specs on the lot. The white one I got with 30 miles and a silver demo with 5000miles

With built motors and big turbos you can make any car have huge power lol. The car was an absolute monster on the highway. It could spin the tires at 90mph

Torque steer was bad and that was with very thick front/rear sway bars and coilovers set to very stiff. Still fun though

My dealer tried the same thing. I took the standard mats back and got my R-Spec mats...

Wow three customers and three different dealers making the customers fight for something that should come standard and even says so in the sales advert.

I despise this type of sparing with dealers whether it is due to poor product knowledge or the more sinister well try to milk this customer for some more cash either way it is far from a Premier experience and outright shameful.

Congrats on the new ride boss it looks tight!:welcome:

It's most likely due to the dealer having to trade for the car from another dealer - then the dealer where it came from pulls them out thinking no one will be the wiser...

My R-spec was placed in a car show before I bought it and someone stole the floor mats while there. When I picked up my car I brought it to the dealer's attention and he got the mats from the last R-spec on his lot (and in the state).

The 'experience' gets passed downstream.....just like in the military. :)

Ill buy that about the mats being snagged somewhere along the way... but then why question the customer when they called the dealer out on it. The right response is yes sir/mama well get those installed/ordered for you right away my apologizes. Instead they get the response no those are extra or your wrong you have to pay more for those.....really? BS!

I would let Hyundai know how this dealer/salesman treated you in the survey you'll soon be receiving from Hyundai Corp. Dealerships take these surveys very seriously, and IMO -for lying and deception, this one needs a good spanking.
