New owner

Hey folks, picked up my 2013 R-spec late last night, black/black. Very nice ride, I think I'm going to like it a whole lot. Do these cars come with an owners manual? I took it for granted it would be in the glove box but when I got home it wasn't there, WTF!

If you go to the Hyundai website and register as an owner, you should be able to download a PDF version.

If the car is new, it obviously should include a manual. Go back to the dealer and tell them to give it to you or have them order a set.

Also, update your profile from "dreams".

It is new, will call the dealer today. I guess I'm old school, computer is not to convenient when in the car and trying to figure things out. Like the back window shade, how to raise it?

There should be a button next to the "Set" button for the power seats on the driver door. That will raise and lower the rear sunshade.

I've also noticed that if the sunshade is up, and you put the car in reverse, the shade automatically goes down. And then when driving forward, it goes back up. Nice touch.

If the dealer doesn't give you all that stuff, you need to complain to someone higher up.

My 2013 R-Spec came with so many manuals that they won't all fit in the black leather case. The Digital AVN System User's Manual will not fit.

I agree that it's nice to have a manual in your hand when you're sitting in there trying to figure out what all the gizmos, bells and whistles are for. But, it's good to get the digital versions also. The manual that I find myself referring to most often is the Digital AVN System User's Manual. I've put the PDF version on my phone and tablet so it's always available when I need it.

Dude when you get a chance take ESC off and put left foot on brake the give her some gas. She is going to sit there and burn out. If you want take foot off gas and enjoy some doughnuts.

When clicking on the details, it looks like most are demos with about 5K miles on them, but still great deals.

The dealer I bought my 2013 3.8 from a month ago has a bunch of 2013 3.8s and one 2014 R-Spec. All new.

Look around at individual dealership websites and look at their inventory.

Thanks to all for the information, I did down load the manual on my i-pad. I guess I am some what of a nerd and look at every single page just to make sure I don't miss out on something. Darthspader, I think I'll pass on the donut thing but thanks anyway, never know when I may get some wild hair and you know where. We traded in a 370Z, so I guess the R-spec takes care of the need for speed thing. The Z is a great car for the money and will miss it, especially in the twisties. I'm pretty impressed with the handling of the R-spec. I am still a little nervous of the Hyundai brand, but this forum pretty much convinced me that the Genesis is a good reliable car and I like the car more everytime I am in it. I'll even be smiling more when I learn how everything works. Really a cool car with a classy look.
