  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

washed, leaf blown dry and got the porter cable 7424 out with the lake country CCS pads and went ot work. since i already used the meguiars ultimate compound and then meguiars swirl remover before i went to florida i figured another coat of meguiars #2 polish and some yellow #26 was in order. I'm in love with black again (for a minute lol)

bunch of pics i figured why not. i left my nieces college grad party and the sun was going down so i hit my favorite pic spot and snapped away.

that's the great thing about these pics. u can just download thm and think it is yours hahahaha

Nice Pics. The new badging really does give a different flavor aesthetically to the sedan. Hoping to get one of my own sooner rather than later.

Now it's time for a lip spoiler and painted grill:D I didn't like the silver grill with the black car, so I had mine painted to match. Thought the car just needed a small sporty kick, so I put on a spoiler too. I like the look:cool:

Nice pics:)

Nice pics:)

i actually have a brand new takeoff grille. i am going to have it painted next month when they redo the rear door. spoiler? not sure. i really like the sleek trunk lid, has that step up almost like a subdued spoiler. have to wait and see. you got some good pics of your car with it?

removed the "Genesis 4.6" from the trunklid. the process was a pain, as someone else noted the panel is plastic so it took longer to get the residue off. one thing of note** there was an outline of the letters that appeared when removed. to get rid of it (compound didn't work) i use denautered alcohol then clayed it, 3M fine cut rubbing compound, Meguiars ultimate compound, Meguiars #9 swirl remover, meguiars #1 paint cleaner, #2 Polish on my Griot's garage 3" orbital polisher, then meguiars yellow #26 wax again with the small orbital. here's the results.
you need at least one of these:

ignore the haze, it's an effect of the camera. finish is like a mirror (with factory orange peel of course lol)

Wow that's a lot of work!
When I had the tint shop remove the "Genesis" from the back there was some outline ghosting as well. All I did was use some fine polish and hand work and it came off fine.
I checked from all angles and it does not show, and I have a black exterior like yours. They used a heat gun so maybe that took off more of the glue?
Car look amazing Tony, congrats!

That is just a lovely car, Tony. Congrats again.

Since I still don't have a Genny to pamper... I spent a couple of hours detailing my lawn tractor today. LOL

I can relate..

I can relate..

car is still sitting crooked in my driveway. went out (took my F150) came back...bird shit all over the passenger side.. quick detailer, microfiber all gone.. my kid comes up (watching tv in the mancave..you know it must'v been important lol) says "hey Dad. there's bird crap all over the car" i was like no i just cleaned it off. SURE ENOUGH... so i saw the big as hell birds atop a 40ft evergreen in my neighbors yard. picke dup a couple stones and "Whack" i nailed the brach like an inch away from the thing! i couldn't do that again if my life depended on it. i was trying to just scare it off lol

i made the damn car so shiny they must think it's a small body of water?

I can relate..

you KNOW i couldn't leave it on there even though it's going to pour in like an hour and for the next two days!

Fantastic- wonderful Hyundai paint.

That's because you have a NEW one and mine was 18 months old, with a few nicks here and a door ding there. This totally reduces the ocd factor for me :)
I just don't need to sweat it as much, but I do understand where you're coming from!

it wouldn't matter if it was a '79 el camino. i'd be doing the same thing lol

Here's my thread for the spoiler, and there are a number of people who submitted photos with it installed.

Tony we bought our cars from the same dealer and from the looks of it we are in each others backyards.

Here is a link to my thread on this...

There are a number of people who had posted pics of the completed install.

Enjoy,

took a look at it. pics not helping me decide i will need to see one in person. so far i'm NOT thinking it fits in with the cars sleek look. almost looks like an afterthought (which it is) just not oem looking enough for me i guess? hope i get a look at one in person so i can get a better perspective.
