That's the nice thing about the Lexus LS460.. It's "got it all" but it's not flashy.. The Genesis is another good example.. The Equus is just the opposite..

The only thing "flashy" about the Equus is the vertically-slatted grill/hood ornament and maybe the headlamps - the rest of the Equus is very traditional luxury in a 1990s Buick sort of way.

W/o the hood ornament and w/ the cleaner horizontally slatted grille - the Equus starts to look more staid.

Yes, that's for real. FWIW, the Genesis sedan is known as the BH380 in Korea (they don't get the V8 otherwise they'd also have a BH460).

As for the Lexus comparison, the rear does very closely resemble the LS (the exhaust tips being the single biggest ripoff), but the rest doesn't look to LS like to me. Like the Genesis, it's a hodge-podge of various luxury car styling elements. Building a car like this is a big enough risk, they can't risk being to adventurous/different w/ the styling....yet. They want it to look expensive and fit in w/ it's competitors, which it does.

The rear of the LS460 (as well as the side), otoh, took some cues from the 7 Series.

It was the LS430 which was a virtual clone of the S Class (circa 1994) from the side (esp. C pillar) and rear.

i lol everytime hyundai makes something..its a "knockoff". companies that make "knockoff" products generally dont generate the revenue that hyundai does. theres not much originality of any brand out there. lexus was one of the biggest "knockoff" artists if you will and are still from other companies. this just funny to me. by the way, i think the car looks fabolous, i hope those are 20in. wheels.

People just need to wake up and smell the coffee. Hyundai sales kill those of other automakers and like you said, while they are struggling, Hyundai has been doing well.

Like they say, RETHINK EVERYTHING.

The Japs are the biggest copy cats in the WORLD! Lexus? Honda? HELLOOOO ...so for one to criticize Hyundai, they have no clue what their talking about.

Realize, that it took Hyundai half the time if not less to accomplish building quality cars of what it took the JAPS to do in double, triple the time...That's the most important piece of FACT.

Hyundai is definitely on the right track. It's evident. Now with the new Equus, it will rattle this segment with jaws dropping...

Except Hyundai has a different angle of approach. They have the balls to not have to create another name for their luxury line (like lexus), instead retaining the original brand to prove a point that Hyundai is here and here to shine.....but also to prove it doesn't have to hide under a different name to be recognized....

As for the pictures, my point exactly as stated in the previous post. The JAPS are the biggest copy cats in the WORLD! They have no originality. All the Japs do is just take other technology, style, design and originality and tweek it to try to call it their own. It's been proven over and over throughout history. The Japs take other people stuff, copy it, and try to claim it as their own.....I mean seriously?....get the F#$# outta here....

Hyundai did in a fraction of the time of what it took the Japs to do in almost triple if not more.....period.

Hyundai is making a strong statement and it's working....kudos

The Toyota Camry and Lexus LS vehicles aren't even built in the same factory. They're completely different cars. The LS is an extremely high-tech automobile - just like the Mercedes S-Class - and offers luxurious comfort not available in any automobile made in the U.S. Sometimes the truth is not easy to take...

This is the most hilarious response that I have read in quite some time! So I guess the person who invented the radio shouldn't be credited with the invention simply because others all over the world listen, dance and enjoy the music that it emits. Just because you obviously despise or dislike the Japanese does not change the facts that Karaoke Machine was created by a Japanese person and that the widespread popularity of Karaoke throughout Asia only occurred after the Japanese made it widely successful.
