  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm taking delivery of a 2012 R-Spec today. Very exited. I am making a wish list of goodies (emblems, seat covers etc) and thought about getting a set of MGP caliper covers. I know-they are ridiculously expensive. I had a set on my previous ride and got very positive compliments. Not crazy about the standard markings, so I contacted a retailer regarding custom units.

If we can get a total of 5 members that are interested in covers with the R-Spec engraving, the cost for standard colors would be $215.00 shipped. (standard pricing that I've seen is $179.00). For custom colors the price is ridiculous, $325.00. If we can get a few folks interested, I am not opposed to aggressively negotiating the price or trying a few different suppliers.

thx
WD

I might be interested in a set (Red or Black...haven't decided).

I might be interested in a set.

+1, but I'd want the black one's that say R-Spec milled into the aluminum. (then I'd paint the R red as Ruissimo once mentioned ;-)

Get us a good price and it's on! Oh, and congratulations on your new car; prepare to fall in love.

I am interested as well. Black witht he R Spec engraved.

Count me in only if the price is right! I believe you should be able to negotiate a price of $175 shipped or lower.

Thanks.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
WD40.. you have 5 interested so far. I'm assuming you would make and recieve the entire order, then reship to each individual payer? Welcome to the board BTW.

Does anyone know of those companies who hold buyer's monies until goods are shipped, inspected, and approved for funds-release? I used one years ago, but cannot even think of good terminology to Google.

Update-the car should be here within the next four hours.

What I'll do is attempt to get a slightly lower price. I've never seen any of the standard covers cheaper than $179. I'll PM you folks and give you the sales info so you can call him directly and order them. I'm probably going with the red and silver, although I'd really like the insert color to be Titanium Gray (same as my unit).

do you guys think the "S" in Spec should be capitalized? The photo I saw shows the Spec in lower case.

+1 - in as well. Definitely would want to R-Spec milled into the aluminum. If they could paint the R red that would be even better but not a deal killer.

Although HyundaiUSA refers to the car as "R-Spec"; the car's floormats and rear badge say "R spec". Either is fine w/me.

6 interested so far.

Maybe we should stay true to form. Plus, they already have the system set up for the R-spec engraving, so I'm good with that.Trunk symbol is also lower case.

MGP will charge you accordingly for any changes in machining.

I asked to have the Genesis wing logo engraved on my non R-spec Genny instead of the "Genesis" script and the rep said that it would cost much extra for custom engraving.

Here is my non R-spec MGP covers in red.

Hey Rudderman. Long time. I would be interested in some of these for my r-spec. Let me know if you get a good deal.

Sorry guys, but caliper COVERS? Maybe have my caliper machined but not covers. Or 6 piston Brembos. no additional unsprung weight.
Bill

Any progress on price negotiations WD? Currently 8 folks are interested.

At this point, the guy should be willing to reveal his cost, and negotiate a modest %profit for himself from there -considering he will very likely sell 10 units through your negotiations; 8 are pretty much guaranteed.

Well, the best I was able to negotiate is $210 for standard colors, red, black or silver. He is also willing to discount other parts if ordering additional items. If this sounds o.k. with you guys, i can give you the e-mail address and phone number for the rep, or I can pas on your information to him.
