  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New R Spec Owner From Connecticut! (with pics)

Hiya folks!

Been lurking (and participating) for a year and a half... but now I'm official!

Just picked up my R Spec yesterday from White Plains Hyundai, and drove her straight to my detailer for tint and the exterior prep (which I instructed the dealer to skip). Picked up my new car at 1pm today.

Here's a quick picture from my crummy BlackBerry camera - more (and hopefully better) pics and a video to come! Gotta upload them all later tonight when the kids are asleep!

SHE DRIVES LIKE A DREAM.

She's a beauty!! Looks like mine, and kind of makes me want to put my front wings on! :D

:welcome:

Great shot, Ruissimo.

I had a good experience at White Plains, as well. Nice folks. But also found the people at Danbury and Stamford to be good to work with. Hyundai dealers seem to be making good progress.

Sharp looking car Ruissimo. Congrats!!

I let my brother test drive it this afternoon - it had just started to snow, so we went to the lake (only a mile or so away). He couldn't resist and snapped a couple of pictures. Here's one of the better ones:

Good look at the tint (and the dirt that splashed on the way there):

Before we went there, snapped a couple in the driveway - good views of the tint:

Stupid weather! I wanted to drive it tonight, and snap some pics!

Avatar and Sig updated with MY OWN car (still can't believe it's mine...) Oh, and I have a new desktop background too. :)

And why not a video of me backing up in the driveway? LOL

Noticed when I got home that they gave me non-R spec front floor mats instead of the R spec ones. Now I have to drive an hour each way to go get them.

YAY! I've only put 108 miles on the car so far... I actually AM looking forward to it.

Only issue is... dealer refuses to sell me the mats I have in the car now (says they belong to another car). Oh well... I'll just buy a set online or something. Any good recommendations? I refuse to pay $70 bucks for OEM mats.

WeatherTech was my choice. Compared to the crap BMW factory all-weather mats, they fit perfectly and are durable and good looking. Some people hate them, saying that the lack of channels lets water/slush slop around. Not an issue for me, although our lack of snow in MN this year doesn't say much for my analysis. However, even in a normal snow year, I would never let that much stuff accumulate anyway.

I looked at those... definitely not cheap.

BTW... I hate to say it, but I like the original "GENESIS" mats better than the "R Spec" ones I just picked up. These are more charcoal than black.

:(
