  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When was the last time that you checked for this? The ABS multi-fuse replacement recall came out a few years ago. It's still valid, of course.

It is a simple fix. Just swap out the two 40A slow blow ABS/ESC automotive fuses for two 25A slow blow fuses in the fuse box. No extra programming or ecu adjustment needed fo the 2015-2016 Genesis. However, Hyundai will swap the fuses for free per the recall.

Those are the important fuses to stop a fire in the ABS module, but the multifuse card in the engine box also has a recall. Hyundai has a shortage of the revised version and the recall might not be completed because of it. The ABS fuse recall: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCRIT-21V160-6827.pdf

My car has had one on backorder from Hyundai for almost a year now because apparently... none exist.

Strange. The multi fuse recall appears to involve replacing two standard 20 and 25 amp fuses. Why would these fuses not exist?

Those fuses are available. The ABS recall is poorly named, it's 2 FMX MaxiFuses that need replacement.

There is a separate recall for the actual multi fuse (the big fuse card) that's not possible to perform at the moment. I can't find the recall or TSB link for it right now.

I thought that this is what Hyundai refers to as a multi-fuse.

I haven't seen any of those on the fuse isle at the local auto parts store.

Thanks. I've never seen one either, and have not seen that recall as it does not come up on the recall search for my vin.

The ABS recall only requires the installation of the 20A and 25A ABS fuses. It even states that in the TSB you posted. The TSB even circled the two fuses that need replacing.

The multi fuse card does not need replacing per the ABS fire TSB. However, it may have an issue as well, but not the fire causing one like the 40A fuses.

I received it last week for the first time.

The fuse was already replaced by the dealer, So I think its something else.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Thanks for the update, I just checked on mine (delivery of the car is in process, should have it this coming week), but this is what I found, I am going to ask the dealership to get this taken care of before they ship it out:

Service Campaign 965AUXILARY CANISTER INST. & STICKER INST.

Could be. However, there is no other fuse recall for the 2015 Genesis to my knowledge. If so, post it please so that I can get my Genesis sorted out.

I have read that someone else on the forum may have seen some recall or TSB about a main fuse block, but stated they can not find the information. My guess it was for another Hyundai model, not the 2015 Genesis.

However, the ABS module does need to be inspected as per the recall because it may cause the fire due to a possible brake fluid leak that shorts out the ABS module. The problem is that the 40a slow blow fuses allows too much heat and current to occur before they blow ; hence the fire risk when a ABS module goes bad. The replacement 20a and 25a fuses blows sooner to prevent a fire from occurring if the ABS module shorts out due to a brake line leak in the ABS unit.

I checked my brake fluid reservoir and it is at the proper level so I "assume" my ABS module is leak free since brake fluid do not just evaporate and only lose fluid due to a leak.
