Good evening all. Went down to the tire shop and decided to pick up some new Blaque Diamond BD-11’S , running staggered, 20x9 and 20x10 rears for my 2015 3.8 sedan.

Question I have is the tires they recommended were 255/35/20 in the front and 275/35/20 in the back. In the search I see people running 30’s in the back. Is that a serious difference. Any advice before they come in?

I assume the original tires are 18x8 245/45/18 so the correct set of tires for the front would be 20x9 255/35/20 with speedo error -1.28% and rear 20x10 275/30/20 with speedo error 0.7%

Thank you sir. I appreciate it.

Dareick....would 245/35 work good as well or is 255 what’s recommended.

Yes, that size works too, the tire would look little stretchy, though. I'd stay with 255/35

Ok cool. Thank you very much. Knowledge is appreciated.

I also have a question about tires. I currently have the stock setup with my wheels on my 3.8.

I recently bought 20x8.5 rims for my car. I have yet to seek out tires tho. It's still winter up here in Alberta I plan on having a good set of quiet tires for summer and winter tires for winter on the stock rims.

You guys have any tire size recommendations for my aftermarket rims? (20x8.5 non staggered)

So, if your wheels are 18x8 245/45/18 as well, this would be the best fit - 20x8.5 255/35/20 with speedo error -1.28% reading at 60mph would be 59.23mph

Btw. What is the offset of your new rims?

Ok thanks. The offset of the new rims isn't anything crazy - 35mm.

Question for you Dareck. I’m sticking with the intitial tire setup but my question is about the springs. I had a 2013 genesis sedan on vossen cvts. I dropped it with the gts springs from ark but those things sagged beyond belief over time. Did I read that you went with the GT-F springs. If so how do you like those. And lastly. How is your tire wear? Outside of an alignment you do anything in keep the tire wear minimal?

Yes, I went with GT-S and then GT-F springs, it's been ~18 months and I still love them, the ride and handling is awesome. The tires wear evenly as I always stay within factory specs, no crazy camber, lol
I just posted some pics in other thread how exactly my car look on F/S springs https://genesisowners.com/hyundai-g...wered-on-ARK-GT-F-Springs&p=253333#post253333

man, seriously considering springs after looking at your pics.

Lol....just go with the GT-F springs and you won't be disappointed.

Alright, probably be my next purchase. I'm see if koni will make a set of dampers for this car.

Yea. Springs ordered. Went with the GT-F. I love the low look however I keep reminding myself this is a luxury car and my 2013 rode a little rough with the GTS even though it looked amazing.

Last question I promise Dareck 😂😂. How often are you getting that Genny an alignment?

As they say: "if it ain't broke don't fix it" ....I only did it once, after lowered the car. Even after installing rigid collars, an alignment wasn't needed, they only checked and said it was still within a factory specs. I'm not sure how long am gonna keep the car, but as long there isn't any weird, uneven wear of tires or car pulling to the sides, I won't be doing anything.

Post some pics once your car is lowered :)

Will do. That’s good info to know!!! I think the rims come in to Tuesday and springs Wednesday. Will put the rims on that day but take to get the springs installed next weekend

Woot! Woot! Aftermarket rims and tires being installed on Wednesday! Pics to follow. Stay tuned!

Are the GT-F springs recommended for the 3.8 as well? I'm seeing a set of for for $276 and free shipping (retail) and $237 on ebay. Does that sound about right? Did anyone update their shocks at the same time?
