  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New Software Update

I doubt it's the battery. The car is literally 4 months old, but I'll check it tomorrow when I can. Thanks
My 2022 GV70 has only 12,000 mi on it and I'm having a battery issue. And the bigger issue is they're on backorder! Navigation isn't working.. I've had to have AAA come and jump it twice. Then I was having a check engine light. I couldn't get service for a week. And still I have problems. Didn't start it all last night...

Did you look in Connected Services to see what your battery level actually is?

GV70s in Canada offer no way to see battery percentage, not even with connected services.

I would love an option to see battery percentage or voltage on the cluster

Here in the US, can login to our Owners Page (Genesis Owners Home) on our home computers and open Connected Services there to see the battery percentage. You can't see it using the App on your cell phone.

My connected service isn't connecting!
It's not working in the app on your phone, or you can't look at connected services on your computer? Sometimes, Connected Services don't work on the Genesis Owners Home Page, but if the app isn't connecting, you have to reconnect to the app by sitting in your car with it running, outside and do the following:

(Make sure vehicle is on and in park, Bluetooth needs to be turned off)

1.Hold down the map and setup key until the screen turns off
3.Press Bluelink or Genesis Connected Services (for some models, press Bluelink or GCS then Bluelink or GCS Settings).
4.Press Service Activation or Reconfigure.
5.Wait for the "Enrollment Successful" message then press OK.

If anyone has yet to be able to accept OTA updates in their GV70, I've been royal pain in Genesis arses, and they finally reached out to me today with an updated Link, which takes you to the Connected Service Page on a Web Browser, where I was able to finally accept OTA update for both of our 2023 GV70 Sport Prestige.

I'm adding the link here if anyone hasn't accepted OTA updates and please note that until you do, you won't get them. But this link actually works:

Does anyone know the details of what's included in the recently posted Genesis update v.230628 that wasn't present in the late April version? Any information would be greatly appreciated so that I can decide whether or not it's worth it to update again.

The last one I see is May 2023...there's a newer one? OTA updates don't work in Canada, by the way. Nothing works in Canada. :(

There is now a listing for version 230628 (at least in the USA), but I just finished chatting with a CSR at mapnsoft and was told that the only feature in this update was a "patch" for older models that were experiencing issues with recent updates. He indicated that the next scheduled update would be available no sooner than late October.

Not for Canada I guess...or they just leave us broken because we're not a big enough market to take seriously.

There were some other changes. For example, when listening to my local NPR Classical Station (HD Radio), instead of just seeing their logo, we now get the album art in its place, which is nicer. There was supposedly an improvement to the 3D maps, but I can't honestly see the difference.

Unfortunately, I live in an area where there are no HD Radio stations (or HD Weather or Traffic info), so I can't comment on whether or not my GV70 EV had been upgraded to that feature in the late April update. Although I've downloaded the 0628 update to a USB drive, it's certainly not a necessary update for me to try to install.

I'm one of those people who wants to have the latest update available. You know, incase there's something I just can't live without!

On another subject, I typically use Apple CarPlay for maps, but today, I had a doctors appointment in a part of the area I'm not overly familiar with. My cars nav system had me me turn right into a multi-building complex to get to my destination. It wasn't even close. I had to use Apple Maps to get to my destination, which was on the other side of the highway and I wound up being almost 15 minutes late to my doctors appointment. Lesson learned there.

I'm one of those people too - and frustrated for the thousandth time that "that's not available in Canada". Man, Genesis does not treat Canada very well at all.

Is it Genesis (MapN'Soft) or is it the availability of updated road changes? They have to get the information from some agency that keeps track of it. Any one know how it works?

Confused as to what exactly isn't available in Canada?

FWIW, although off topic, I wanted to post that I'm absolutely thrilled with the GV70 EV Prestige since obtaining it 6 weeks ago. I've owned/driven cars from so many US, European & Asian manufacturers since getting my driver's license in 1963, but can't point to a single one of them which provided greater vehicle satisfaction from behind the steering wheel.........

Sorry, I can't help you with that. Have you contacted Genesis Canada and asked how to accept the OTA Update terms in the web version of Connected Services? It took several weeks for me to be able to finally accept them here in the US. And I honestly won't know if the car will actually update OTA, until the Fall update is released. Plus, tbh, downloading the update to a memory stick and then putting the stick in the car to download the update was pretty easy and quick. So if I never get OTA updates, it's just not a big deal to me.

My 2019 Mercedes E450 received OTA updates. The last maps update I received in the car before trading her in for the GV70, took several weeks for the update to finish downloading to my car. But in a Benz, you can't download an update to a memory stick and do it yourself, so at least Genesis gives us options.
